The Buxton Hollis Historical Society is a community group focused on the protection, education and preservation of all local
history in both towns. Our library is open April-October which includes
a small museum. We have monthly programs, publications on local
history, and community education programs. We have restored the one room
Watson school now located at Buxton Center, also with summer open
hours. Some of our past programs have included: local history bus
tours, cemetery haunted tours, house tours, historical house surveys of
both towns and support of local interests such as vital records
transcription, book publications, artists and local indians. We
encourage community interaction and welcome new members and interests.
For more information, call 727-3131, Brenton Hill, President 929-8895
or Rita Bradbury 929-8530. Our location is 8 River Rd, Buxton, at
Moderation. Any mailed requests should go to P.O. Box 34 Buxton, Maine

Maine 211 - GET CONNECTED. GET ANSWERS! United Ways of Maine, in collaboration with Ingraham, have established
2-1-1 Maine, Inc. as an efficient and effective response to the growing
complexities and needs in health, social economic and human services.

2000, the Federal Communications Commission approved 2-1-1 nationally
for health and human services information and referral.
