Minutes for Select Board Televised Meeting
April 5, 2017 at 7:00PM
Attendees: River Payne, Roger Hicks, Mike Seely, Sr., Bennet Flinner, Don Marean, State Rep; John Sheahan, Dana Gray, Lenny VanGaasBeek, Peter Elliott, Meg Gardner, Rita Perron, Vera Littlefield, Nancy Conway
1. Select Board Meeting opened by River Payne at 7:02pm.
2. Old Business
a. Town Barn Siding - Vinyl Siding installation has been completed on the Town Barn and looks great--check it out!
b. Warrant for 6.13.17 Annual Town Meeting- Select Board reviewed all articles at the 5:00pm meeting and made their recommendations. Final draft will be signed by SB and available to the public on 4.12.17. First Public Hearing for the June Warrant will be held on 4.19.16 at 7:00PM at the Hollis Fire Dept 405 Plains Road.
3. New Business
a. Community Clothing Closet donation and update - Poland Spring has generously donated $25,000 towards the new facility for the Community Clothing Closet. Thank you!! There has been a snag in the progress of building the new facility due to a site plan/property question. Once this is cleared up, building will commence.
b. Salmon Falls Library Committee Request - The Select Board is forming a committee regarding the Salmon Falls Library and its future. Please contact Mike Seely, Sr. if you are interested in joining this committee at 929-8552 x11 or mseely@hollismaine.org.
c. Bond for Roads - Five roads have been identified in town as needing immediate attention due to poor conditions. The estimate to cost to fix them all is $3M. SB will be presenting the bond to the Budget Committee on Monday for recommendation and will add to the warrant. Roads include Sand Pond Road, Salmon Falls Road, Deerwander Road, Bear Hill Road, Upper Tarbox Road.
d. Statistics - Hollis FD/EMS responded to 43 calls last month, mostly for medical transport. Code Enforcment Officer's year to date fees collected $56,086. Salmon Falls Library - Patrons registered 3,580 in all. Animal Control Officer took 5 calls last month - all dogs at large.
e. Warrant and Payroll Totals - Warrant week of 3.22.17-$28,626, last week - $40,155, this week - $74,146; Payroll week of 3.22.17 - $10,717, last wee - $24,973, this week - $96,961

-DOG LICENSE FEES ARE NOW OVERDUE! Fees for 2017 YEAR are $6.00 for Spayed/Neutered dog, $11.00 for unspayed/unneutered. Late fee is $55 (per dog) and is STATE mandated.
-Buxton Hollis Historical Society Open House this Saturday 9:00AM-2:00PM "All roads lead to Bar Mills" BHHS Museum and Library open Saturday 9am-12pm or by appointment.
7. Other Business- York County Budget Committee Caucuses are next Wednesday at 6:30PM. MSAD 6 School Board will be decreasing their board members from 14 to 11: Limington - 2, Hollis- 2, Buxton- 3, Standish- 3, Frye Island- 1. Next MSAD 6 Budget Advisory meeting tomorrow at 6:00PM.
