Minutes for Select Board Televised Meeting

Attendees: River Payne, Mike Seely, Sr., Chris Young, Martha Huff, Bennet Flinner, Heather Sullivan, Rita Perron, Becky Bowley, Rita Anderson, Beverly Harris, Nancy Conway, Vera Littlefield
 
1. Select Board Meeting opened by River Payne at 7:01PM
 
2. Town Clerk Update:

  • Public Hearing for the Warrant and Proposed Ordinances on May 17, 2017 at 7:00PM to be held at the Hollis Fire Dept at 405 Plains Road, Hollis, ME  Annual Town Meeting will also be held at the Hollis Fire Dept on June 13, 2017 from 7:00AM to 8:00PM. Absentee ballots are due to the Town Clerk by May 20, 2017. Residents must register to vote in person at Town Hall or at the polls on voting day. Any question regarding political signs, please contact the Town Clerk.
  • MSAD 6 School Budget vote will take place at Bonny Eagle Middle School on May 25, 2017. 

3. Old Business
 
      a. Town Ambulance: Mike Seely, Sr. reports that the ambulance is in Fort Kent for service. The box of the vehicle was damanged and may be totalled. The Town currently has a loaner ambulance until a decision is made regarding the damaged ambulance.
 
      b. Community Clothing Closet:  Mike Seely, Sr. reports that the structure is set up and volunteers are currently working on the roof. Should be ready for occupancy next week.  Thank you to Poland Spring for their monetary contribution and the building volunteers! 
 
3. New Business
 
      a. Statistics:  Hollis Fire Dept: 47 incidents, service calls have gone up 15% over the last year. Code Enforcement Office: $88,000 in revenue, it is the only year on record where the revenue was higher than the appropriation. Next pay cycle, Paul Goudreau the Deputy CEO will begin work to help Bob Cyr with his large workload. Animal Control Officer: 11 calls last month with no animals killed, taken to the hospital or euthanized. Emergency Medical Subscription: 60 residents are currently on the plan. It is an open enrollment this year. 2018 will have enrollment only available in January.

-DOG LICENSE FEES ARE NOW OVERDUE! Fees for 2017 YEAR are $6.00 for Spayed/Neutered dog, $11.00 for unspayed/unneutered. Late fee is $55 (per dog) and is STATE mandated.

6. Public Comments and Questions: Rita Anderson suggested a candidates night for the people running for Select Board and the Budget Committee. The Select Board will look into it and may hold one on May 31 or June 7.
