MINUTES FOR UNTELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

6.28.17, 5:00 P.M. TOWN HALL

Attendees: Roger Hicks, Mike Seely, Sr. Rita Perron, Bob Cyr, Bennet Flinner, Martha Huff, Heather Sullivan, Nancy Conway, Vera Littlefield, Bev Harris.

 

1. Meeting called to order by Hicks at 5:01pm

2. Old Business:

   a. Roads:  Hicks reports that Sebago Technics will be meeting with Fairpoint and CMP regarding pole placements on Sand Pond Road. New DOT signs are up for Poland Springs on Rt 117.

3. New Business

     a. Bob Cyr, CEO - Re: 108 Plains Road. There is an in-law apt on the property that was not previously permitted. Consent agreement will allow homeowner to keep it but it cannot be rented out to tenants and must be up to code. 

     b.  Seely announced that there will be an executive session this Friday for legal matters at the Town attorney's office.

4. Other Business

    a. Pirate Fest will be held at the Hollis Sports Complex on Saturday, August 12, 2017. SB encourages residents to attend

    b. Seely reports that ads will be placed in the Smart Shopper regarding the new SB meeting times, General Assistance and CEO office hours. Mid October will hold Public Hearing for General Assistance Maximums.

    c.  Seely reports that the Clothing Closet dedication ceremony was held on Saturday. Photos were taken by John Paul Rondeau will be posted soon.

    d.  Town Sign refurbishing - Seely reports that the board will be obtaining 3 quotes for updating the Town of Hollis signs. 

5. Public Comment - Resident asked how the Town will deal with marijuana in the future. The Select Board responded that they awaiting on the State's decision and legislation. Resident provided Select Board a detailed opinion on the matter and suggested they do not wait for State's decision.

Martha Huff reminded the public that recording of meetings should be annouced at the beginning of the meeting.  She was also asked how "write-in" votes work for the Town. Huff indicated that she follows state process.

Resident asked if the CEO has authority to walk on property without permission and take photographs. Bob responded that it is like any other person such as a mail delivery person, he can walk pathway to the doorways of homes and take photos from there.

7. On the motion of Seely/Perron, meeting was adjorned at 6:22pm. Passed 3-0-0.
