Minutes for Select Board Televised Meeting
 
August 3, 2017 at 7:00PM at Hollis Community Building

1. Meeting called to order at 7:00PM by Seely.
 
2. Old Business
 
Select Board asked the public to please hold all questions or comments until the end of the meeting where it is placed on the agenda. Select Board business must be addressed first.
 
Fuel Fund: Seely reports that the fuel fund is low and needs to be built up for the winter time coming. On the upcoming warrant, a subaccount for the Christmas and Fuel funds will be put under the Community Day appropriation per the Treasurer.
 
Town Signs quote: Town has received one quote back to have the Town Signs refinished by Black Bear signs - $405 per sign $750 for installation - total of $4,800. Town appropriated $6,000. On the motion of Seely/Perron the Select Board accepted this quote to have work done by Black Bear Signs. Passed 2-1-0.
 
New ambulance:Seely reports that the new ambulance arrived yesterday. It will be painted and lettered and should be in service by the first of September 2017.
 
Emergency Medical Subscription: Renewal for 2018 is now open. Town will make an annoucement on the website.
     
3. New Business
 
Request For Bids - Hollis Sports Complex Parking Area: Bids are due by August 16, 2018.
 
Statistics:
Animal Control Officer received 23 calls last month, one animal was euthanized, one hit and killed;
Salmon Falls Library has 4 new households all from Buxton;
CEO collected $12K in fees to date. Building permits July 16 to date $9K. These are applied to revenue account and help keep taxes down;
Fire and Rescue: In July they received 68 calls, 39% were medical transport. Mutual aid calls are increasing and they reportedly are in need of additional staff.
 
Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant last week: $18,715, Warrant this week: $30,252, Payroll last week: $16,102, Payroll this week: $23,591.

- VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Select Board is looking for volunteers to give input for the Phase 2 construction of the Community Building. If you have a background in building, construction, project management or similar, please join us! Request volunteer form at adminsecretary@hollismaine.org or 929-8552 x26.
 
- The Hollis Pirate Fest will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Hollis Sports Complex. Please contact Debbie Tefft at Parks and Rec to volunteer! More information about the festival and the 5K and 5 mile Road Races can be found on their website www.hollispiratefest.com
 
- Help Wanted!  The Town of Hollis is looking for applicants for the two part-time positions: Administrative Assistant for the Parks and Rec. Dept. and an Administrative Clerk for the Code Enforcement Officer. - There will be a preliminary Public Hearing tomorrow, August 3rd at 6:00PM  at the Hollis Community Building presented by Maine DOT regarding reconstruction plans. The reconstruction project along Routes 202 & 4 will be beginning 0.13 miles north of the intersection of Route 5 in Lyman and extending northerly 2.16 miles in Hollis, beginning 0.16 miles north of the intersection of Main Street (Route 4A) in Buxton and extending 0.2 miles north, and beginning 0.07 miles south of the intersection of Harding Road in Gorham, and extending northerly 0.56 miles. 4. Other Business  - Chris Woods, Woods Excavating: He said he read and understood the letter. Once letter is signed the fine will be paid.
