Meeting date:
Wednesday, September 2, 2015

5PM The Select Board met with Rob Hanson, Road Commissioner and Rebecca Bowley. The procedure for accepting a Road as a town road was reviewed.
Purchase Orders were submitted and roadwork discussed.  A discussion was held for putting the snow plowing out to bid. The Road Commissioner is asking for three year contract for snow plowing.  The Select Board offered a one year contract. The Select Board feels it is late in the season to go out to bid for this year and the plan is to develop a description/requirements for snow plowing and advertise for a multiyear contract in June of 2016.  Rob stated that the costs will rise by going out to bids.  His crew is available for emergencies like fire scenes, traffic accidents and calls from the Select Board. Becky wanted to know why the Select Board felt they should go to bid. She works with a 45 million dollar budget. Hollis has how many residents? And how many complain? We turn down parking lots jobs, our phone is always ringing. The Road Commissioner was unsure if he was willing to sign a one year contract, and he will not submit a bid at this time.
