Minutes for Select Board Televised Meeting

November 2, 2016 7:00PM

Attendees: River Payne, Roger Hicks, Mike Seely, Sr., Bennet Flinner, Don Marean, John Rondeau, Rita Perron, Rita Anderson, Vera Littlefield, Nancy Conway, Bev Harris, Dana Gray, Rande Gray, Len VanGaasBeek.

1. Meeting opened by Payne at 7:01PM

2. Old Business

a. Roads Update: Bar Mills Bridge officially opens on 11/8/16. Bridge Dedication is being held on 11/7/16 at 2:00PM.

b. Budget Committee and Planning Board Vacancies: There is one vacancy on each board. Please contact the Select Board if interested in joining.

c. Maintenance Worker New Hire: Rick Hinds' first day as the Town of Hollis Maintenance Worker was on Tuesday, welcome aboard Rick!

d.  Fire Chief position: The Fire Chief Selection Committee made its recommendations and the Select Board voted to offer the position to Chris Young.

e. Town Policies: They are currently being updated and will be added to the website when completed.

f. CPR Training: The Town is offering CPR/AED/First Aid certification and training on Saturdays. If you are interested, please contact Bennet Flinner or Mike Seely, Sr. at the Town Hall. $20 for residents and $35 non-residents.

g.  Notice of Tax Sale Reminder - Foreclosed Properties: Bids are due Tuesday, November 15, 2016 by 4:00PM. Will be opened at Select Board meeting 11/16/16 7:00P.M. Down payment should equal at least 20% of bid in the form of a cashier's check or money order.

a. Sale of Fire Department Tanker and Ambulance: Ad will run in the Smart Shopper and MMA website. Contact Mike Seely, Sr. if interested.

b. Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant last week: $43,546, Warrant this week: $32,574; Payroll last week: $19,079, Payroll this week: $10,087.

c. Purchase Orders:#3428 to Ron Young Builders for Chimney Mock up on training building at the Hollis FD- paid for by facilities grant awarded by MFSI, not to exceed $2,500; #3327 to SMPDC for Planning Board services, not to exceed $771.40; #3374 to BANA Corp for replacement of 3 outside lights at Town Hall, not to exceed $800.00; #3303 to Trophy Warehouse for Fall Soccer Leagues at Rec Dept, not to exceed $762.80; #3417 to Ziebart for Undercoat and Bedliner for Service truck w/10 year warranty (yearly service required), not to exceed $1,200.

d. Correspondence:

  • IMPORTANT ELECTION REMINDERS: Registration for Absentee Ballots are available until TOMORROW 11/3/16 4:00pm. Completed Absentee Ballots may be returned to Town Hall until FRIDAY 11/4/16 4:00pm, or else please bring them to the Hollis FD on Election Day, November 8th, 2016.  Polls will open 7:00AM and close 8:00PM at the Fire Station at 405 Plains Road.
  • LIHEAP and Weatherization - York County Community Action Program 207-324-5762    WEBSITE:  https://www.yccac.org/index.php/energy-programs/liheap
  • Your Country Store supports the Hollis Rec! YCS will be donating $2.00 for each large pizza and $1.00 for each small pizza sold on MONDAYS and TUESDAYS through the end of November. Proceeds go to Hollis Rec Department! Thank you Your Country Store for your support!
  • Rabies Vaccination Clinic will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1PM to 3PM at the Buxton Public Works Garage next door to Buxton Town Hall. $8.00 per vaccination – CASH ONLY dogs must be on a leash and cats in carriers. FMI call Buxton Town Hall.
  • DOG LICENSE FEES ARE DUE OCTOBER 15th through DECEMBER 31st 2016 for the 2017 YEAR $6.00 for Spayed/Neutered dog, $11.00 for unspayed/neutered.
