AGENDA FOR UNTELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

11.22.17, 3:00 P.M.

Attendees:  Mike Seely, Sr., Rita Perron, Bennet Flinner, John Rondeau, Dave McCubrey, Linda Bradbury, Bev Harris, Rita Anderson, Nancy Conway, Vera Littlefield

Absent: Roger Hicks

1. Meeting called to order by Seely at 3:07PM.

2. Old Business 

      a. Tax Sale of Map 15 Lot 54B, located at 68 Ledgewood Drive, Hollis, ME 04042 - Opening of Bids.  Select Board received one bid for $18,000.00 from Jeremiah Berube. It cannot be accepted as it is since it does not indicate if it is a total amount of a bid, or a deposit. It is also less than the minimum bid that was set.  

      b. Hollis Fire & Rescue recognition from Honor Flight Maine: Hollis Fire and Rescue members were acknowledged for their participation in welcoming back those who flew to Washington for the Honor Flight Maine.

      c. Update on 8 Georgie Lane: Seely reports the property has been sold and cleaned out. It will be renovated and flipped.

      d. Town Trash Ordinance and violations: Seely reports that 15 letters will be sent out to residents that are in violation of the ordinance. Ex: No recyclables, excessive trash amounts, furniture, wood or metal items being discarded, etc.

      e. Selection committee for Finance Committee: SB still looking for members. Have one volunteer, Becky Bowley. They prefer individuals with financial background.

      f.  DOT update on Killick Pond Road: Don Marean received an email from the Deputy Commissioner of Transportation. The DOT plans to make signage upgrades and improve the entrance of Killick Pond Road from Rt 35. More information will be forthcoming.

3. New Business

      a. New appointments: Select Board appointed Wayne Twombley as a member of the New Town Complex Committee.

      b. Findings and Order notices for nuisances and dangerous buildings: Select Board reports that they will have 4 additional letters sent to residents on their nuisance property and/or dangerous buildings. They will have 90 days to clean up their property before legal process continues. 

      c. Town Hall Structural Repairs: Seely reports that the Select Board will send a letter to PATCO revoking their contract for the project. A structural engineer will complete the drawings and report, then work will go out for regular bid.

4. Other Business - None 

5. Public Comments: More concerns from residents were voiced about the safety of Killick Pond Road. Seely will call the Town Attorney next week to get an opinion as to what the Town's rights to the road are, if any.  A resident also brought up that not all Town meetings are streamed on the cable TV channels or online. Seely said he would check up on that issue.

6. Executive Session - None 

7. On the motion of Seely/Perron the Select Board adjourned the meeting at 3:56PM. Passed 2-0-1.
