MINUTES FOR HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING - Recorded at Town Hall

1.24.18, 5:00 P.M.

Attendees: Roger Hicks, Mike Seely, Sr., Rita Perron, Bennet Flinner, Patrick Bonsant, John Rondeau, Bennet Flinner, Rita Anderson.

 

1. Meeting called to order by Hicks at 5:00PM

2. No bids were received for the Town Hall Structural Reinforcement Project.

3. Two bids were received for the Property Tax Sale of 68 Ledgewood Drive, Tax Map 15 Lot 54B. Bid #1 from William Dunleavy for $20,211.00 and a deposit of $5,000 - meets bid requirements.  Bid #2 from Steven and Linda Dechaise for $22,222.22 and a deposit of $6,222.22 - meets bid requirements.  On the motion of Perron/Seely the Select Board awarded the sale to Steven and Linda Dechaise. Passed 3-0-0. Deposit from William Dunleavy was returned to him at the meeting by Bennet Flinner.

4. Old Business

    a. 18-19 Budget Reviews

Code Enforcement Office:  After much discussion, Select Board agreed to remove the "incoming fees" column for all budgets next year. On the motion of Seely/Hicks the Select Board approved to recommend the Code Enforcement Office budget of $94,830.02. Passed 3-0-0.

Saco River Community TV: On the motion of Perron/Seely the Select Board approved to recommend the Saco River Community TV budget of $16,676. Passed 3-0-0.

Community Clothing Closet: On the motion of Perron/Seely the Select board approved to recommend the Clothing Closet budget of $1,875. Passed 3-0-0.

Conservation Commission: On the motion of Perron/Seely the Select Board approved to recommend the Conservation Commission budget of $600.00. Passed 3-0-0.

Tax Collector: Two sheets of budget were presented - one that McClay submitted $47,939 and the second Seely changed to $43,139.08 and took out deputy expenses. Select Board recalculated the figures and came up with $47,939. On the motion of Perron/Seely the Select Board approved to recommend the Tax Collector budget $47,939. Passed 3-0-0.

    b. Town Hall Structural Repairs : Seely reports that the Town Hall may need to be shut down for a few weeks during the repair of the building. Hicks suggested they meet with Town employees for feedback next Tuesday and then make a decision at next Wednesday's Select Board meeting. Bennet will send out an e-mail to employees and set up the meeting. Employee meeting later changed to Wednesday from 11am-noon.

    c. Selection Committee members and Finance Committee members: Notice in the Smart Shopper will be placed this week regarding the search for Finance Committee members - contact for the committee will be Martha Turner. The selection committee will make recommendations of 7 Finance Committee members to the Select Board (5 members and 2 alternates).

5. New Business: Perron reports that the Owner's Rep David Douglass is currently negotiating with the lowest bidder of the Phase 2 project, Dimatteo Construction, to bring the price down to within the appropriation. Seely reminded her that the Town has a maintenance person that can help with carpentry work.          

6. Other Business: Hicks reports that Sebago Technics is working on Sand Pond Road to begin the process on road plans. The road bond is also in progress.    

7. Public Comment: Employee meeting changed from next Tuesday to Wednesday from 11am-Noon.

8. Executive Session - None

9. On the motion of Seely/Perron, the Select Board adjourned the meeting at 6:27PM. Passed 3-0-0.
