Meeting Minutes for Select Board Televised Meeting

August 17, 2016 7:00PM

Attendees: Select Board Members: River Payne, Mike Seely; Admin. Assistant: Bennet Flinner; Residents: Nancy Conway, Beverly Harris, Vera Littlefield, Rande Gray, Dana Gray, Harlan Huff, Lenny Vangaasbeek, other residents not listed please contact Bennet Flinner at Town Hall.

  1. Meeting opened by Chair Payne at 7:04PM.

  2. On motion of Payne/Seely, meeting minutes were approved for August 3, 2016, 5:00PM and 7:00PM.

  3. Old Business

a. Community Building Update: River, Mike, and about 20 Hollis residents met with Caleb Johnson Builders on August 15th at the Community Building Workshop meeting to discuss first layout of floor plan. Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday 3:00PM at the Community Building and will discuss the committee moving forward.

b. Community Clothing Closet Update: Mike reports that the trailer is there and loaded. The entire building is now empty. Updates inside and outside the building will be completed during 8/22/16 - 9/10/16.

c. MSAD 6 Update: Select Board has received notification this week that a cost sharing review committee for Frye Island will be formed under LD 1301. Any interested residents, please contact the SB.

d. Roads Update: Haley Road is still being paved.

4. New Business

a. New Town Municipal Complex: Meeting regarding this initiative will take place on 8/25/16 at 6:00PM. This will be facilitated by Mike Seely to form a committee and discuss concepts.

b. Warrant and Payroll Totals: 8/8/16 Warrant: $357,578, 8/8/16 Payroll: $14,453; 8/15/16 Warrant: $15,477, 8/15/16 Payroll $24,793.

c. Purchase Orders: #3322 to RMDL, Inc. for HWY for 3 days ditching Bean St. to fix washouts and establish ditches. Excavation, trucks, labor, traffic, erosion controls included - not to exceed $8,000.00.

#3323 to LT's Inc. for T-shirts for Hollis Pirate Fest 5K/5M run -  not to exceed $600.82. (Paid from the Hollis Pirate Fest account.)

d. Maintenance Update: 3 bids received for maintenance cleaning of Town Hall(per cleaning): Cleaning By Chris $67.50; 1st Choice Floor Care $50.00 and Dave's Cleaning Services $196.72. On the motion of Payne/Seely, SB approved 1st Choice Floor Care for the cleaning of the Town Hall bi-monthly.

e. Correspondence & Thanks:

Mr. Bob Larry has announced his retirement from town of Hollis as the maintenance custodian. The Select Board thanks Bob for his many years of faithful service to the town and wish him all the best in the future!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped and residents who came to enjoy the Hollis Pirate Fest and 5K/5M race! 

Reminder that the Dorcas Society Fair is this Saturday, 8/20 9AM-2PM in Buxton. Please visit the Buxton-Hollis Historical Society Table.

5. Other Business

           a. Hollis Concerned Citizens Group - They will be meeting at the Community Building on September 8, 2016 at 10:30AM and invite the public to come and support them.
