MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD ZOOM MEETING

Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, 7:00PM

Attendees: Select Board Members - Chair David McCubrey, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman; Town Clerk - Martha Huff; Code Enforcement Officer - Tammy Munson; Select Board Office Asst - Bennet Flinner; Camera Operator - Ken Knudsen; Public -  Becky Bowley.

1.           Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00PM

2.           Unfinished Business - None                                       

3.           New Business

a. Plow Contract Extension:  On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board unanimously voted to extend the current Snow and Ice Contract with RMDL for another year at the same price.  Passed 3-0.

b. Wage Increases: On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board unanimously voted to allow staff wage increases of 2.5% plus $.25 for 2021-22 FY.  Passed 3-0.

c. Hollis Gym Lighting - William Dunlay: McCubrey thanked resident William Dunlay for his generosity in the design and providing new lighting for the Hollis Gymnasium.

 d. Growth Ordinance - CEO Tammy Munson will meet with the Select Board offiline regarding developing a new Growth Ordinance or updating the current zoning regulations for cluster subdivisions. 

e. Roads Update – Maine DOT work on Route 202 (On our website) & Salmon Falls Bridge; Moderation Street Bridge weight limit updated to 30 tons.

f. Appointments: On the motion of Rogala and Hoffman, the Select Board unanimously appointed Faith Plummer, Paul Mattor and Kathy Harriman to the Long Range Planning Committee until June 2022. Passed 3-0.

g. Payroll and Warrant Totals:  Payroll last week $33,293, Payroll this week $12,607; Warrant this week $29,949, Warrant last week $49,695.

h. Purchase Orders: #3990 to Armstrong Medical for new components of Pediatric Browslow bag (FD) not to exceed $1,050; #3858 to Lucas Tree to prepay for Sports Complex, Clarks Mills and Comm. Bldg tick control and treatments not to exceed $5,461.50

4.           Other Business: Update from State Rep Nathan Carlow - is drafting legislation to allow Towns to use TIF funds towards municipal buildings - will be forwarded when officially drafted and has gained bipartisan support. Offered support and free to answer questions anytime offline to the Select Board and public.

  • Finance Committee Zoom meeting on Monday, Feb. 8th at 6:00PM.
  • Long Range Planning meeting in the Community Building on Tuesday, Feb. 9th at 5:00PM.
  • Planning Board Zoom meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at 7:00PM
  • Planning Board Site Visits for subdivision application for Harmon Farms and Noble Ridge at 10 and 11AM on Saturday, Feb. 13th.
  • Select Board Zoom meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 17th at 7:00PM
