MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD ZOOM MEETING

Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 7:00PM

Attendees: Select Board members – David McCubrey, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman; Town Clerk Martha Huff; SB Office Asst Bennet Flinner; Camera operator Ken Knudsen

1.     Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by McCubrey

2.     Unfinished Business      

a. McCubrey announced the Zoom Public Hearing on June Warrant Articles to be held on 03.17.21, 7pm. Documents are on Town’s website for review.

b. Marijuana Business Ordinance -  Overview and presentation given by Mary Hoffman. Code Enforcement officer will give additional information and presentation at Public Hearing 03.17.21.                           

3.     New Business

a. West Buxton Bridge – State has posted a 30 ton limit on bridge.

b. Appointments:  On the motion of Rogala and Hoffman, the Select Board appointed the following New Town Hall Committee members - Staff representation:  Diane Meserve, Faith Plummer, Tammy Munson and Bennet Flinner; Hollis resident representation:  Rita Perron, Roger Hicks, Terry Walters and Douglas Bordeaux. Passed 3-0.

 c. On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board approved the meeting minutes from Feb. 17, 2021. Passed 3-0. 

 d. Hollis Libraries – Hoffman encourages those residents interested in forming a Library committee to contact the Select Board. Both the Salmon Falls and Hollis Public Library should be represented.

 e. Payroll and Warrant Totals – Warrant last week: $30,313, Warrant this week: $75,464; Payroll last week $31,808, Payroll this week $12,796.

 f. Purchase Orders: #3991 to KCV Trailer for a 20 foot metal conex box for live fire training, under Hollis FD not to exceed $3,000.             

4.     Other Business  

• Select Board is still working on updating Policy #10, Schedule of Fees.

• John Rogala thanked Poland Spring for the donation of a new snow blower to clean the ice skating pond at the Community Building. We had asked for a used one if they had it, and they presented the Town with a new one. Thank you Poland Spring!                           

5.     Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

• The Hollis Planning Board will be attending the Town of Waterboro's Planning Board Zoom meeting today, Wednesday, March 3rd at 6:30pm regarding a proposed Deering Ridge subdivision in which the open space is located in Hollis.

• There will be a Hollis Planning Board Workshop on Thursday, March 4th at 5:00pm. They will be meeting at 3 Commercial Street in Scarborough for a non-televised informational workshop meeting in association with the drafting of a Marijuana Business Ordinance for the Town of Hollis. 

• There will be a televised Finance Committee Zoom meeting on Monday, March 8th at 6:00pm.

• There will be a New Town Hall Committee Zoom meeting on Tuesday, March 9th at 6:00pm.

• There will be a televised Planning Board Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, March 10th at 7:00pm.

• There will be a televised Finance Committee Zoom meeting on Tuesday, March 16th at 6:00pm.

• There will be a televised Select Board Zoom Meeting and Public Hearing for the June warrant on Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00pm.
