MINUTES FOR SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, March 15, 2023 - 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: Select Board members – David McCubrey, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman; Town Clerk Martha Huff; Guests – Custom Concepts, Inc. and Northeast Civil Solutions. Camera Operator Ken Knudsen; Select Board Office Asst. Bennet Flinner; Public – Rita Bradbury, Terry Walters, Harlan Huff, Barb Larson, Faith Plummer, Maynard Charron, Joseph Ponzetti, Nancy Ponzetti, Becky Bowley, Heather Sullivan, Kelly Quinn, Barb Hase, Angela Mackie. 1.   Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00PM.

2.   Presentation of New Town Hall plans and public input – Presenters are Mike Richman of Custom Concepts Inc. Architecture & Jim Fisher of Northeast Civil Solutions, Inc. 3.   Old Business

               a. Meeting minutes for Jan. 18, Feb. 1 and Feb. 15 – on the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board unanimously approved meeting minutes from Jan. 18, Feb. 1 and Feb 15 of 2023. Passed 3-0.

               b. Marijuana Business Ordinance amendments & Special Town Meeting 3.29.23.  On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board scheduled a Special Town Meeting to be held March 29, 2023 to amend the Marijuana Business Ordinance according to state mandates. Passed 3-0.   Draft warrant was read by Hoffman later in the meeting.

4.   New Business            

               a.  Parks and Rec Summer Rec program fees & Extended Rec program:  Fees have been established as follows - $800 per child for residents, $850 per child for non-residents. Extended Rec will be $180 per week. They will have time off/vacation in between programs and Community Day. Hoffman will verify dates.

               b.  Appointments - none

               c.  Payroll and Warrant Totals: Payroll last week $37,840; Payroll this week $13,023; Warrant last week $476,148; Warrant this week $39,001.

               d.  Purchase Orders: repeated from prior meeting in error.

               e.  Correspondence: None

 

5.   Other Business

  • We are currently in the process of hiring a Code Enforcement Officer. If you are interested in applying, please send your resume, cover letter and references to adminsecretary@hollismaine.org. Job Description is on our website under the news announcements.
  • Reminder – There is (1) Vacancy on the Finance Committee. All interested parties please e-mail Bennet Flinner at adminsecretary@hollismaine.org or call 207-929-8552 ext. 26.
  • The position is still available for a Part-Time Secretary for our Planning Board, Appeals Board and Finance Committee. All interested parties please e-mail your resume to adminsecretary@hollismaine.org.

6.   Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • There will be a Conservation Commission meeting on Thursday, March 16th at 5:30PM
  • There will be a Planning Board Site Visit and Public Hearing regarding the application for MacDonald Acres minor subdivision on Wednesday, March 22 at 5PM at 50 Dennett Road and 7PM at the Hollis Community Building. All public is welcome to attend.
  • There will be a Finance Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 28th at 7PM.
  • There will be a Select Board meeting and formulative public hearing for the June warrant on Wednesday, March 29th at 7PM.
