MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD ZOOM MEETING

Attendees: Select Board members David McCubrey, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman, Town Clerk Martha Huff; Fire Chief Chris Young, Office Assistant Bennet Flinner, Broadcaster Ken Knudsen, State Rep Nathan Carlow, Becky Bowley, Don Roth Jr.

1. Meeting called or order by McCubrey at 7:00pm.

2. Old Business

     a. Warrant for 6/8/21 Annual Town Meeting: On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board accepted the 6/8/21 Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting as written. Passed 3-0.

3. New Business

     a. Select Board announced the Zoom Public Hearing for the June 8, 2021 Annual Town Meeting to be held on May 19, 2021 at 7PM.

     b. Policy #55:  On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board approved the revisions to Policy #55 - Use of Municipal Facilities during COVID-19. Passed 3-0.

     c. Brookfield Crosswalk Permit Agreement:  On the motion of McCubrey and Hoffman, the Select Board will not accept or sign the current agreement of Crosswalk Permit drafted by Brookfield. Passed 3-0.

     d. Appointments:  Electrical Inspector - Marcel Derosiers.  On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board reappointed Marcel Derosiers as Electrical Inspector for Town of Hollis. Passed 3-0.

     e. Payroll and Warrant Totals: Warrant last week $21,138, Warrant this week $129,791; Payroll last week $12,039, Payroll this week $35,467.

     f.  Purchase Orders: #3992 to Stryker Medical for maintenance on life-pak cardiac monitors for Hollis FD, not to exceed $2,386.80; #3993 to Scarborough Public Works for installation of airpurifiers in ambulances for Hollis FD, not to exceed $2,300; #3995 to All States Construction for Lower Tarbox reclaiming road work under TIF, not to exceed $200,175; #3996 to RMDL for ditching Shy Beaver Road under Highway, not to exceed $10,000; #3997 to NFPA for National Fire Protection Association code subscription under Hollis FD, not to exceed $1,495; #3998 to RMDL for culvert replacement and ditching on Bean Street under highway, not to exceed $8,000; #4000 to CRR for Town roads sweeping under highway not to exceed $2,240; #4001 to RMDL for sweeping and disposal of sweeping & supervision under highway, not to exceed $1,040; #4002 to RMDL for culvert replacement and ditching on West Old Alfred Road under highway not to exceed $3,100.

     g. Correspondence:

  • The Animal Welfare Society at 46 Holland Road in Kennebunk will be having a free rabies clinic on Saturday, April 24th from 9AM to Noon. All dogs must be on a collar and leash. Please bring your pet's previous rabies certificate to qualify for the 3 year rabies vaccine; otherwise your pet will receive a 1-year vaccine. To RSVP, please go to www.animalwelfaresociety.org.
  • All Maine residents aged 16 and older are now eligible for COVID vaccinations as of April 7th.
  • York County Community Action’s Free Tax Prep program is now open and scheduling appointments for eligible York County residents. Get your taxes filed for free and get info about classes, savings, and other local resources to help you save. To make an appointment, York County residents can call (207) 324-5762 ext. 2718

4. Other Business: Library Committee. Becky Bowley asked the board for guidance on having a combined library committee (Salmon Falls and Hollis Public). Select Board agreed that this should be an informal committee prior to making Town decisions and becoming formal. They will discuss and get back to the people who have expressed interest.

5. Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • There will be a Hollis Sports Complex Committee meeting on Thursday, April 8th at 7:00pm at the Community Building.
  • There will be a New Town Hall Committee Workshop on Tuesday, April 13th at 4:00pm at the Community Building
  • There will be a Long Range Planning Committee meeting on Tuesday, April 13th at 6:00pm at the Community Building.
  • There will be a Planning Board Zoom meeting on Wednesday, April 14th at 7:00pm.
  • There will be a Select Board Zoom meeting on Wednesday, April 21st at 7:00pm. That evening, MSAD 6 will be presenting their 21-22 school budget.

6. Public Comment: Martha Huff – Nomination papers are due this Friday by 4PM. Recommends that nominees be respectful and careful when posting on social media. Don Roth thanked the Select Board for their work and all that do work for the Town of Hollis.

7. On the motion of Rogala and Hoffman, the Select Board unanimously adjourned the meeting at 8:00pm.
