MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD ZOOM MEETING
Wednesday, 04/21/21, 7:00PM

Attendees: Select Board members - David McCubrey, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman; Guests - Paul Penna, MSAD 6 Superintendent, Bill Brockman, MSAD 6 Business Mgr; SB Office Assistant - Bennet Flinner; Broadcaster - Ken Knudsen; Public members - Heather McCubrey, Loren Dow, Trevor Hustus, Becky Bowley, Bob Hanson.

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00pm.

2. Proclamations by the Town of Hollis Select Board of the 2020 and 2021 Spirit of America Awards - presented to distinguished residents Robert M. Hanson and Joseph Palmer.

3. 2021-22 MSAD 6 School Budget Presentation by Superintendent Paul Penna and Business Manager Bill Brockman

4. Old Business

a.   June 8, 2021 Election/Annual Town Meeting update - Martha Huff, Town Clerk

b.   Planning Board Fee Schedule: On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala the Select Board approved the PB fee schedule previously drafted. Passed 3-0.

5. New Business

a.  New Town Hall Building Committee - Recommendation for project management: The Committee reports that they recommend Northeast Civil Solutions for the design project of a new Town Hall.  On the motion of Rogala and Hoffman the Select Board awarded the contract for the designing of a new Town Hall to Northeast Civil Solutions. Passed 3-0.

b. Policy Updates - Tabled

c.  Appointments - On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board appointed Madison Moody to the Hollis Conservation Commission. Passed 3-0.

d.  Purchase Orders: #4004 to Poirer Guidelines to double stripe roads yellow center strips at $.09 per foot, not to exceed $11,000 under Highway; #4003 to HSE for annual purchase of 5 sets turnout gear - PO includes $12,500 from 19-20 FY carried forward from PO #3936, Not to exceed $25,000 under FD.

e. Correspondence:

  • The Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk is having a FREE rabies clinic for dogs only this Saturday, April 24th from 9AM to Noon. All dogs must be on a collar and leash. To RSVP, please go to www.animalwelfaresociety.org. 
  • The Annual Turkey Dinner event for appreciation of our community's senior citizens aged 55 and up will be held on Thursday, May 20th from 4:30 to 5:30 at Bonny Eagle High School. This is a FREE "Grab and Go" Turkey dinner event - just drive through and pick it up! Please RSVP by calling 929-3831 or 642-2480.

6. Other Business: 

      a. Roads Update - Town Roads are no longer posted as of April 9th. For any questions, please contact the Road commissioner.  There will be paving the week of April 26th on Ledgewood Drive, History Lane, Heather Lane, Kingswood Drive, Oakwood Drive, and 200 feet over the bridge on Chadbourne Ridge Road. Grinding of Lower Tarbox Road is scheduled for the week of May 4th. The paving of Lower Tarbox Road, Northwood, Crestwood and Fairwood Circle is scheduled for the week of May 10th.

      b. Hanson Solar Farm Decommissioning Bond:  On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board accepted the presented bond for the decommission of Hanson Solar Farm on Salmon Falls Road. Passed 3-0.

7. Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • There will be a televised Planning Board Zoom Meeting on Wednesday April 28th at 7:00pm
  • There will be a televised Select Board Zoom Meeting on Wednesay, May 5th at 7:00pm

10. Adjournment - On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board adjourned the meeting at 8:40pm.
