MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD ZOOM MEETING

Wednesday, May 5, 2021, 7:00PM

Attendees: Select Board members John Rogala, Mary Hoffman; Martha Huff, Town Clerk; Select Board Asst. Bennet Flinner, Camera Operator Ken Knudsen.

Absent: Select Board member - Dave McCubrey

1.      Meeting called to order at 7:00pm.

2.      Old Business - None

3.      New Business

           a.  Policy updates: #5  - Winter Storm Closings, #9  - Town Attorney Access,  #17 - Tax Payment, #23 - Town Owned Property, #24 – Tables and Chairs (no longer applicable) #26  - Acceptance for Town Roads, #39 - Emergency Truck Route, #47 – Select Board Compensation for meetings, #51 – Employee Training, #54 - Public Sand and Salt.  Policy overviews given and reviewed.

           b. Appointments: On the motion of Rogala and Hoffman, the Select Board appointed Tammy Munson as Deputy Road Commissioner. Passed 2-0-1 (McCubrey Absent).

           c. Request for Proposals – Demo, Cleanup and Equipment removal at 17 Moderation Street. The property will be open for a mandatory inspection at 10AM on May 20th. Bidders must attend inspection to qualify to bid. Bids will be due by 5PM on June 2nd and will be opened that evening at Town Hall.            d.  Payroll and Warrant Totals: Warrant last week $20,547, Warrant this week $140,559; Payroll last week $12,142, Payroll this week $34,559.

           e.  Purchase Orders: #4005 to Old Hickory Buildings, LLC for Hollis Rec Storage Shed not to exceed $3,667 under Parks&Rec and Wilkinson foundation grant.  #3994 to Workwell for Medical evals for all FD new hires and current members, not to exceed $25,784 under FD.

           f.  Correspondence:    The Town of Hollis has an opening for an ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER.  To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter to the Town of Hollis. They can also be e-mailed to adminsecretary@hollismaine.org.  All applications must be received by Tuesday, May 18, 2021. This position also covers the Town of Limington. Job Specifications are on our website.

4.      Other Business:   

Select Board thanks Pleasant Hill Excavators for leveling the area and providing stones for Parks & Rec's new storage shed!

Select Board announced latest news that Poland Spring was acquired by One Rock Capital/Metropolis and Company.  The Town thanks them for their continued support to our community!

Select Board thanks the Maine State Police for their continued support to the Town and for being responsive to issues.

5.      Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • There will be a Hollis Community Day Committee meeting at the Community Building on Monday, May 10th at 7:00pm
  • There will be a Winterfest committee Zoom meeting on Tuesday, May 11th at 6:00pm.
  • The Planning Board will be holding 2 Site Visits for Subdivision applicants Harmon Farms and Noble Ridge Estates on Wednesday, May 12th at 5:00 and 5:45pm.  The public is welcome to attend. Additional information is available on our website.
  • There will be a Televised Planning Board Zoom Meeting and Public Hearing on Wednesday, May 12th at 7PM regarding 2 subdivision applications for Harmon Farm and Noble Ridge Estates.
  • There will be a Conservation Commission Meeting at the Community Building on Thursday, May 13th at 5:30PM
  • There will be a Sports Complex Committee meeting at the Sports complex on Thursday, May 13th at 6:30pm.
  • There will be a Long Range Planning Committee meeting in the Town Hall office trailer on Tuesday, May 18th at 6PM
  • There will be a Televised Zoom Select Board Public Hearing for the Hollis Annual Town Meeting secret ballot articles, ordinances and ordinance changes on Wednesday, May 21st at 7PM. Warrant and ordinance information is available at Town Hall and on our website www.hollismaine.org.

7.      On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board adjourned the meeting at 7:27pm. Passed 2-0-1 (McCubrey Absent).
