MEETING MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD ZOOM MEETING

Wednesday, September 16, 2020, 7:00PM

ATTENDEES: 

Select Board members Present - David McCubrey, Mary Hoffman; Absent - John Rogala

Town officials & employees - Town Clerk Martha Huff, CEO Tammy Munson, ACO Nadine Molloy, SB Office Asst. Bennet Flinner, Broadcaster Ken Knudsen

Public members - Rita Perron

 

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00pm. McCubrey reports that Town Hall has been without power since 6pm.

2. Old Business

     a. Town Hall & Salmon Falls Library Partial Reopening. Town Hall reopens on 9/22/20 - Tax Collector's/MV Reg office is open on a first-come, first-serve basis with 2 customers allowed inside at a time. Must wear masks and please bring your own pen. All other offices must be called before hand to make an appointment, call 929-8552. Salmon Falls Library reopened today, 9/16/20, allowing limited people and still doing curb side book lending.Masks are also required for entrance.

3. New Business

    a. A Public Hearing for the review of the MMA General Assistance Ordinance and Appendices will be held via Zoom meeting on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 7PM. Information regarding the GA Model Ordinance and Appendices are on our website www.hollismaine.org.

    b. Payroll and Warrant Totals: Payroll last week - $29,110, Payroll this week - $13,425; Warrant last week - $422,100, Warrant this week $379,365.   Town received Keep Maine Healthy Grant check of $27,000 (can use up to $94,000)

    c. Purchase Orders: Absentee Ballot drop off box for elections not to exceed $2,500; MSAD6 Transportation Summer rec bus rental and fuel bill under Parks and Rec not to exceed $1,767; 

    d. Correspondence:   

  • Just a reminder about Free Food Box Event tomorrow, Sept. 17th from 10am to 2pm at the Hollis Sports Complex on Plains Road. Cars may line up starting at 9:30AM. Boxes will contain milk, cheese, mashed potatoes and produce – 16 pounds each.  Please remain in your car, wear a face mask and follow instructions.
  • Another reminder that the Hollis Community Clothing Closet has added Fridays to their schedule.  They are open 9 to 11 AM on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1 to 3 PM on Saturday.  Please do not drop off any more donations until October.

4.  Other Business: 

Take back e-waste day last Saturday was a success! We hope to be able to do it again in the future. 

Town Clerk Martha Huff reminds boards and committees to bring her minutes to be attested for the Town records. All binding decisions should be on record in the clerk's office. Also all board and committee members whose membership is or will expire soon should be reappointed and sworn in - records of that need to be submitted to the clerk's office as well.

Election update: Town Clerk Martha Huff reports over 800 absentee ballots have been requested so far. The state has approved ballot drop off boxes and we will be implementing one outside Town Hall soon. For complaints about political signs- the clerk has no authority to remove or move signs. The poster's name, phone and address should be on the backs of all signs, please contact owner of the sign to request them to be moved.

ACO Nadine Molloy reports that the stray dog found in our area a few weeks ago has been happily returned to its owner.
