MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING

Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, Bennet Flinner, Carlyle Smith, Elaine Smith, Rita Anderson, John Rogala, John Paul Rondeau, Sherry Estabrook

1.  Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:02pm.

2.  On the motion of McCubrey and Perron, the board suspended the Select Board Meeting and opened the Public Hearing regarding the Warrant Articles and proposed ordinances for the Special Town Meeting on 11/6/2018. Passed 2-0

3.  McCubrey read the warrant in its entirety and opened the floor to public comment. View at https://www.src-tv.org/

4.  On the motion of McCubrey and Perron, the board closed the Public Hearing regarding the Warrant Articles and proposed ordinances for the Special Town Meeting on 11/6/2018 at 7:21pm and reconvened the Select Board meeting. Passed 2-0.

5.  Old Business

    a.  Roads Update: Sand Pond Road and Salmon Falls Road are both being worked on at this time.

    b.  Revaluation and Mapping: Revaluation is behind schedule. The preliminary presentation of the new maps will happen sometime in January 2019. If you have a survey you would like included with the review, please submit it to the Assessor's office as soon as possible.  These tax maps are for assessment purposes only.

7.  New Business

    a.  Appointments – Election and Ballot Clerks. On the motion of Perron and McCubrey, the board approved all election and ballot clerks for the November 2018 election. Passed 2-0.

    b. Tax Commitment: Mill rate will increase $.75 from $12.50 - $13.25 per $1,000. Breakdown: Education $.54, County $.03, Municipal $.18.  Breakdown will be on the new tax bills.

    c.  Weekly Warrant and Payroll:  Warrant last week - $395,178, Warrant this week - $287,164; Payroll last week - $26,656, Payroll this week - $10,757.

    d.  Purchase Orders: none

    e.  Correspondence:

Dog licenses for 2019 are now available. $6.00 for neutered or spayed dog. $11.00 for dogs capable of producing young.  Please bring your dog’s current rabies certificate with you.Per state law, all dogs must be licensed between October 15th and December 31st each year.  Avoid paying a late fee and license your dog(s) now. Checks may be mailed in c/o Hollis Town Clerk, 34 Town Farm Road, Hollis, Maine 04042 On-line dog registration is not available in Hollis.

Oct. 27th - Hollis Parks and Rec Halloween party starting at 6pm at the Community Building.

Oct. 30th - Spectrum channels 2,5,7,16 and 22 will become 1301, 1302, 1303, 1304, 1305, 1306. Basic cable subscribers must have a Spectrum Receiver on each TV in their home. Please contact Spectrum at 1-844-278-3409 to order your receiver.

Nov. 11th - Rabies Clinic at Berwick Police Dept. for both Dogs and Cats $15.00 CASH ONLY and please bring prior rabies certificate if available. Contact the Berwick ACO Carol Harris, for more info at 698-1136 or e-mail berwickaco@berwickpd.org.

Dec. 1st - Rabies Clinic at Buxton Public Works Garage. Dogs on leashes and Cats in carriers please. $8.00 CASH ONLY. For more info call Buxton Town Hall at 929-6171.
