Minutes for Select Board Televised Meeting

October 18, 2017 at 7:00PM, Community Building

Attendees: Mike Seely, Sr., Rita Perron, Bennet Flinner, Rita Anderson, Bev Harris, Vera Littlefield, John Paul Rondeau, Sherry Estabrook.

Absent: Roger Hicks

1. Meeting was called to order by Seely at 7:00PM.

2. Old Business 

      a. Public Hearing November 1, 2017 at Hollis Community Building - Annouced by Seely

      b. Town Hall Structural Issues Update – Seely reports that the first floor filing cabinets do not need removal. SB has scheduled a meeting with Budget Committee on Monday, Oct, 23, 2018

      c. Hollis Sports Complex Update - Perron reports that the new Hollis Sports Complex parking lot should be finished by Dearborn Construction this Friday.

3. New Business

      a. Purchase Orders - #3535 to Full Court Press NTE $760.21 for Parks and Rec newsletter printing; #3698 to Eastern Salt Co NTE $60,000 (TIF) for 1000 tons of road salt; #3697 to Morton Salt NTE $31,440 (TIF) for 400 tons of Ice B Gone for salt treatment on truck route; #3696 to Dayton Sand and Gravel NTE $10,000 for 2,500 yards of winter sand; #3695 to RMDL NTE $10,000 to haul and deliver winter sand to town salt barn.

      b. Warrant and Payroll Totals - Warrant last week: $384,254, Warrant this week: $251,121; Payroll last week: $19,544, Payroll this week: $11,008.

      c. New Appointments - Seely/Perron approved and signed appointments for Hollis Christmas Committee members Faith Plummer, Muriel Johnson, Martha Huff, Diane Meserve and Bonnie Johnson.

      d. Correspondence - Read by Rita Perron

-For the November 7, 2017 State Referendum Election, the deadline for a voter to request an absentee ballot, including a ballot voted in the presence of the clerk, is Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 4 p.m., unless the voter completes a special circumstances application.

Request your Absentee Ballots now by calling 929-8552 ext.18, at the Town Clerk’s Office. Or you may request your ballots in person at the Hollis Town Hall during normal business hours.

-Volunteers are needed at the Hollis Community Clothing Closet. For more information, please contact Bonnie at 727-4015.

-Maine Public Television will be airing a documentary about Saco River Indian Cellar on Thursday November 2, 2017 at 10:30PM and Saturday November 4, 2017 at 11:30AM. Mark your calendars and tune in!

7. Executive Session - On the motion of Seely/Perron, Select Board went into Executive Session pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6)(F) for discussion of information contained in records made confidential by statute at 7:32PM. Passed 2-1-0. Doors were closed during meeting. Meeting attendees: Mike Seely, Sr. and Rita Perron.  Executive Session ended at 7:40PM. 

8. Select Board meeting was reconvened at 7:42PM. On the motion of Seely/Perron, the Select Board approved what was discussed during the Executive Session that just occured. Passed 2-0-1.
 
9. On the motion of Perron/Seely meeting was adjorned at 7:45PM. Passed 2-0-1.
