MEETING MINUTES FOR TELEVISED MEETING – Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, 7:00PM

ATTENDEES: Select Board members - David McCubrey, John Rogala and Mary Hoffman; Select Board Assistant Bennet Flinner; Camera Operator Ken Knudsen; Broadcasting Technician Tiffany Dean.

1.         Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00pm.

2.         Unfinished Business

                    a. Mowing & Landscaping Contract – Bids due Nov. 24th at Noon. Bids will be opened Dec. 1st at the Select Board 7pm meeting. Bid packets are available at Town Hall and on the Town's website.

                    b. Policy #10 Town Fees & Policy #58 Floating Holidays  - On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala the Select Board approved amended Policy #10. Passed 3-0. On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board adopted Policy #58. Passed 3-0.                               

3.         New Business

 a.  Meeting Minutes from 09.15.2021 - On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala the Select Board approved the meeting minutes from 9.15.21, Passed 3-0.

 b.  Payroll and Warrant Totals - Warrant last week $474,910, Warrant this week $50,240; Payroll last week $12,852, Payroll this week $32,752.

 c.  Purchase Orders: #3810 to Treetop Products for a Memorial Bench to be placed at Indian Cellar. Covered by family donation. Not to exceed $1,900 under Conservation Commission.

 d.  Correspondence:

  • There will be a rabies vaccine clinic at the Lyman Town Hall at 11 South Waterboro Road in Lyman on Saturday, November 6th from 9AM to Noon. All pets must be leashed or in a carrier. For more information, call 292-2424.
  • This Saturday, Oct. 23rd is National Take Back Day. Expired prescription and over the counter medications can be safely disposed of and taken at a location near you. To find a collection site go to www.takebackday.dea.gov or call 211.
  • York County is taking applications for their Home Heating Assistance Program. To schedule an appointment, call 207-459-2950 or apply online at YCCAC.org.

5.         Special Thanks To:

  • Poland Spring for their donation towards new playground equipment at the Sports Complex.
  • Fred Decker of Bear Hill Lumber for his donation of lumbar towards pavilion repair at the Sports Complex.
  • Maine State Police for their help in the investigation of vandalism crimes at the Sports Complex.                 

6.         Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • There will be a Conservation Commission meeting on Thursday, October 21st at 7pm.
  • There will be a Planning Board meeting on Thursday, October 21st at 7pm.
  • There will be a Finance Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 26th at 7pm.
  • There will be a Planning Board meeting on Wednesday, October 27th at 7pm.
  • The State Referendum Election will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd in the Hollis Community Building at 35 Town Farm Road from 7AM to 8PM.
  • There will be a Select Board meeting on Wednesday, November 3rd at 7pm.
  • There will be a Sports Complex Committee meeting on Thursday, November 4th at 7pm.
  • There will be a tentative Planning Board meeting on Thursday, November 4th at 7pm.

7.       Updates from Town Clerk, Martha Huff:  State Referendum Election is Tuesday, Nov. 2nd in the Hollis Community Building from 7AM-8PM. Absentee Ballots are available for request until 10/28/21 4pm. Call 929-8552 ext. 18 to request a ballot by phone or stop into Town Hall during open hours. Can be requested online at maine.gov, search absentee ballot. Voting guide is available online and at the Town Hall. The Clerk may or may not process absentee ballots prior to the elections.  Dog licenses are due Dec. 31, 2021 $6 neutered and $11 not neutered. Online registration of dogs is not available, must come into Town Hall or call the Clerk to register over the phone and send a check.
