MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, Martha Huff, Don Marean, Bennet Flinner, Sherry Estabrook, John Rondeau, Rita Anderson

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:01pm.

2. Old Business

    a. Roads Update: McCubrey reports that Sand Pond Road is torn up and should be completed by December 1st. FR Carroll has provided paperwork and will begin November 15th with paving.

    b. November Election Reminders: Per Town Clerk Martha Huff, Absentee ballots are available now in person or over the phone. Deadline to request a ballot is November 1, 2018 at 4pm. Completed ballots must be turned in by 8pm on voting day at the voting place. Polls open on Nov. 8th at 7:00AM and close 8:00pm. Please contact Martha Huff if you'd like to volunteer at the polls.

3. New Business

    a. Civic Plus Services Contract: On the motion of McCubrey and Perron, the board approved the services agreement with Civic Plus, our website services provider. Passed 2-0.

    b. Policy amendments - #5 Town Hall Winter Storm Closing, #37 Disclosure of Vital Records.  On the motion of Perron and McCubrey, the board approved amended policies #5 and #37. Passed 2-0.

    c. Appointments - Clothing Closet Committee. On the motion of McCubrey and Perron, the board approved the appointments of Lila Wilkins, Election Warden and Amanda Conihe for the Clothing Closet committee. Passed 2-0.

    d. Statistics - Hollis Fire and Rescue.  So far for 2018 the Hollis FD Rescue has received 475 calls, up 1.17% from last year.

    e. Weekly Warrant and Payroll:  Warrant last week-$41,559, Warrant this week - $39,329; Payroll last week- $26,982, Payroll this week - $10,992.

    f. Purchase Orders: #3731 to Littlefield Construction for Town Hall structural repairs. Not to exceed $5,100; #3729 to RMDL for Morrison Road ditching (2 days labor and equipment) under highway. Not to exceed $6,000; #3728 to Mainely Pavement Maintenance for Haley Road and Clarks Mills Road cracksealing under paving. Not to exceed $10,000; #3727 to BANA Corp for yard light on pole at salt shed. Not to exceed $1,400.

    g. Correspondence

Oct. 6th - Hollis Lions Club Bean Supper 4:30-6pm

Oct. 6th - Battle of the Badges at Hadlock Field

Oct. 9th - Hollis Rec Bus fall foliage trip and Katahdin cruise around Moosehead Lake. Please contact Beth at Rec Dept. 929-5142.

Oct. 13th - AppleCycle Charity Bike Ride will be rolling through Hollis on Saturday, Oct. 13. Please pay special attention on Cape Road and Waterboro Road on this day. 

Oct. 27th - Hollis Rec Halloween party starting at 6pm at the Community Building.

Oct. 30th - Spectrum channels 2,5,7,16 and 22 become 1301,1302,1303,1304,1305,1306. Basic cable subscribers are required to have a Spectrum Receiver on each TV in their home. Please contact Spectrum at 1-844-278-3409 to order your receiver.

Nov. 11th - Rabies Clinic at Berwick Police Dept. for both Dogs and Cats $15.00 CASH ONLY and please bring prior rabies certificate if available. Contact the Berwick Animal Control Officer, Carol Harris, for more info at 698-1136 or e-mail berwickaco@berwickpd.org.

Dec. 1st - Rabies Clinic at Buxton Public Works Garage. Dogs on leashes and Cats in carriers please. $8.00 CASH ONLY. For more info call Buxton Town Hall at 929-6171.

Dec. 13th -  Enactment of LD 1620 - Act to Protect the Elderly from Tax Lien Foreclosures.
