MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, Jack Rogala, Martha Huff, Anna McClay, Bennet Flinner, John Rondeau, Rita Anderson

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00pm

2. Welcome New Select Board member Jack Rogala- McCubrey welcomed newly elected Select Board member Jack Rogala. Rogala thanked the Town for the warm welcome.

3. Anna McClay, Tax Collector - The Select Board recognized Anna McClay for 25 years of service to Hollis as our Tax Collector.  They thanked her for her dedication and support all these years for Hollis.

3. Old Business

    a. Elections Update: Per Martha Huff, Town Clerk, 2278 voters submitted ballots (including absentee) on November 6. Huff thanked Lila Wilkins and Deputy Faith Plummer, the election staff, Chris Young and the Hollis FD/Rescue staff for all their help at this very busy election with set up, clean up and volunteering.  Results of election are on the website at www.Hollismaine.org.

    c. Roads Update: Shaw Brothers is currently working on Sand Pond Road paving.  

4. New Business

    a. Appointments and Memos: On the motion of Perron/Rogala the board approved the Planning Board appointment for Maxwell Kenney. Passed 3-0.

    b. Memo for non-municipality funds disbursement: On the motion of Perron and McCubrey, the board approved disbursement of funds. 3-0 Passed

    c. Name Change of Old Alfred Road - On the motion of Perron and McCubrey, the board approved the name change of Old Alfred Road to East and West Old Alfred Roads. Passed 3-0.

    d. Policy #5 Amendment:  On the motion of Perron and McCubrey, the board approved the amendment to Policy #5 and signed the new policy. Passed 3-0

    e. Policy #54 Salt and Shed policy: On the motion of McCubrey and Rogala the board approved the implentation of policy #54 and signed new policy. Passed 3-0.

    f. Weekly Warrant and Payroll: Warrant last week - $17,936, Warrant this week - $473,612; Payroll last week - $11,409, Payroll this week - $27,958.

    g. Purchase Orders: #3660 to Presumpscot Valley Fire Academy for training 2 firefighters Jan-June 2019 under Hollis FD/Rescue. Not to exceed $1,900; #3659 to Presumpscot Valley Fire Academy for training 4 firefighters under Hollis FD/Rescue. Not to exceed $800; #3737 to R&W Engraving for Fall Soccer League Trophies under Parks/Rec. Not to exceed $1,173.65; #3748 to Fail-Safe for nozzle testing under Hollis FD/Rescue. Not to exceed $1,035; #3740 to Custom Coach and Limosine for bus trip to city theater under Parks/Rec. Not to exceed $735.00.

    h. Correspondence

Nov. 11th - Rabies Clinic at Berwick Police Dept. for both Dogs and Cats $15.00 CASH ONLY and please bring prior rabies certificate if available. Contact the Berwick Animal Control Officer, Carol Harris, for more info at 698-1136 or e-mail berwickaco@berwickpd.org.

Friday Night Knit and Crochet Group at the Community Building begins this Friday, November 9th from 6:30-9:00pm. Everyone is welcome to this adults only (over age 16) knitting and crochet group! Bring your materials, patterns, questions and expertise! Snacks will be served and there is no fee! Will be held every Friday night, no sessions on Nov. 23, Dec. 21 and 28.) Hollis Parks and Rec is offering a bus trip to see A CHRISTMAS CAROL - THE MUSICAL at Biddeford City Theater on Saturday, December 1st. Bus leaves at 6:00pm, show starts at 7:30pm.  $30.00 per person includes price of ticket and transportation from Hollis Community Building. RSVP BY NOVEMBER 16, 2018.  For more information, call Beth at 929-5142.
