MINUTES FOR TELEVISED & ZOOM SELECT BOARD MEETING – Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, 7:00PM

Attendees: Select Board members David McCubrey & Mary Hoffman; Town Clerk Martha Huff; CEO Tammy Munson, Parks and Rec Asst. Director Madison Moody; Election Clerks Lila Wilkins & Donna Lovell; Select Board Assistant Bennet Flinner; Camera Operator Ken Knudsen; Broadcasting Technician Tiffany Dean; Public - Terry Walters, Denise McCubrey, Paul Mattor, Rita Anderson, Richard Marion, Deb Silver, Frank Hanson, Don Marean, Faith Plummer.

Absent: John Rogala, Select Board

1.         Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00pm.

2.         New Business

         a.  Payroll and Warrant Totals: Payroll last week $14,168, Payroll this week $35,113; Warrant last week $24,342, Warrant this week $48,896

         b.  Purchase Orders: #4069 to Dayton Sand and Gravel for 100 yards of sand delivered to the Town salt/sand shed not to  exceed $9,000 under Snow acct.

         c.  Correspondence:

  • Planning Board Agenda for December 2, 2021, 7pm read by Hoffman
  • Applications for the Hollis Christmas Fund will be taken until this Friday, December 3rd. If you or someone you know needs a helping hand this season and is a Hollis resident, please call Faith Plummer at 929-8552 ext. 17 or stop into Town Hall. If you'd like to support the Christmas Fund, please send your contributions payable to the "Hollis Christmas Fund" or choose a tag from any of our "Giving Trees" at Town Hall, Your Country Store or River Tap and Grill. Thank you for your support!
  • A reminder that the first half of property taxes are due next Wednesday, December 8th. Interest will commence on December 22nd.
  • Our Deck the Hauls Drive-Thru event will take place on Friday, Dec. 3rd at 6pm here at the Town Municipal Complex. To get tickets, please go to their Facebook page under "Deck the Hauls" and click on the sign-up genius link. There will also be a Canned Food drive sponsored by the Hollis Lions, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there too! Hope to see you there!
  • On Wednesday, December 8st, The Southern Maine Agency on Aging and York County Elder Abuse Task Force is hosting Community Café social events for Maine residents over age 60 at the Hollis Center Church. Lunch will be served 12-1pm. To register call 207-985-6121 Extension 1323.
  • There will be a Rabies Vaccine clinic this Saturday, December 4th from 1-3pm at the Buxton Public Works Garage. $8 per vaccination Cash Only. Cats must be in carriers and dogs on leashes. Faith will be there to license dogs at the same time. License fees are $6 for altered dog and $11 for an unaltered dog.
  • Thank you to Dorcas Society for generous donation to Community Clothing Closet.

3.         On the motion of Hoffman and McCubrey, the Select Board suspended the meeting at 7:13pm. Passed 2-0-1 (Rogala absent)   Special Town Meeting was opened by Town Clerk Martha Huff. Moderated by elect Donald Marean.

4.         On the motion of McCubrey and Hoffman, Select Board meeting reconvened at 8:07pm. Passed 2-0-1 (Rogala absent)

5.         Mowing and Landscaping Bids: On the motion of Hoffman and McCubrey, Select Board extended the request for bids until the Select Board meeting January 19, 2022. Passed 2-0-1  (Rogala absent)

6.         Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • There will be a Sports Complex Committee meeting on Thursday, December 2nd at 7pm
  • There will be a Televised and Zoom Planning Board meeting on Thursday, December 2nd at 7pm.
  • There will be a Televised and Zoom Planning Board meeting on Wednesday, December 8th at 7pm.
  • There will be a Televised and Zoom Select Board meeting on Wednesday, December 15th at 7pm.
  • There will be a Conservation Commission meeting on Thursday, December 16th at 5:30pm
