MINUTES FOR TELEVISED & ZOOM SELECT BOARD MEETING – Wed, Dec. 15, 2021, 7:00PM

Attendees: Select Board members - David McCubrey, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman; State Representative Nate Carlson; Bennet Flinner; Camera Operator Ken Knudsen; Broadcasting Tech Tiffany Dean; Public - Joy Cutrone.

1.         Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00pm

2.         Old Business

            a.  Mowing and Landscaping Bids - Deadline extended to Jan. 19th at 5pm. Bid packet is available on our website and at Town Hall. Bids must be sent in or dropped off in person, no e-mail or fax bids accepted. 

            b.  Approval of Minutes for October 6, October 20 and November 17, 2021. (Hoffman absent 10/06 & 11/17).  On the motion of Rogala and McCubrey, the Select Board approved the minutes for October 20 2021 Passed 3-0. On the motion of Rogala and McCubrey, the Select Board approved the minutes for October 6 and 17 2021. Passed 2-0-1 (Hoffman absent).

3.         New Business

            a.   Moment's Peace Farm, LLC. - Local authorization for marijuana businesses.   On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board approved the authorization for Moment's Peace Farm marijuana businesses. Passed 3-0.

            b.   Pelletier Springs subdivision road. On the motion of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board approved the agreement for the subdivision's private road as written. Passed 3-0.

            c.   Holiday Schedule 2022 – Policy #2. On the motin of Hoffman and Rogala, the Select Board approved the holiday schedule for 2022. Passed 3-0.

            d.   Payroll and Warrant Totals:  Warrant last week $590,844, Warrant this week $47,486; Payroll last week $13,697, Payroll this week $36,764.

            e.   Purchase Orders:  #4070 to Ward Water Inc. for removal and installtion of new toilet in Community Building bathroom not to exceed $2,000 under Maintenance; #4072 to Innovative Surface Solution for 4500 gallons of magic minus zero delivered to town barn not to exceed $7,110 under snow; #4071 to First Choice Title Company for purchase of Tea House Property as voted in special town meeting not to exceed $79,990 under Conservation Commission.

            f.   Correspondence:

  • Planning Board Agenda for Thursday, December 16, 2021, 7pm
  • Hollis Town Hall will be closed in observance of the Christmas Holiday on Friday, December 24th and for the New Year's Holiday on Friday, December 31st. 
  • Reminder that interest commences on property taxes eff. Dec. 22, 2021. If you haven't received your tax bill, please contact the Tax Collector at 929-8552 x16 or access your bill on our homepage: www.hollismaine.org.
  • There will be a Blood Drive on Saturday, January 8th from 9AM to 1:30PM at the Hollis Center Church at 388 Hollis Road. To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800 RED CROSS. 
  • A reminder to renew your EMS Subscription Plan for the year 2022. All residents must apply for this subscription by written application. Applications are available on our homepage, at Town Hall or by calling Bennet at 929-8552 ext 26.

4.         Other Business

            a.  State Representative Nathan Carlow - State update and MSAD 6 Superintendent search. Carlow is chair for the superintendent search committee. Interested residents should contact Nate if interested and info available on MSAD 6 website bonnyeagle.org.

5.         Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • There will be a Conservation Commission meeting on Thursday, December 16th at 5:30pm
  • There will be (2) Planning Board Site Visits on Thursday, December 16th. The first at 962 River Road at 2PM for Conditional Use Permits of medical marijuana cultivation and medical marijuana retail sales and at 62 & 64 Hollis Road at 3PM for Conditional Use Permits of medical marijuana cultivation and medical marijuana retail sales.
  • There will be a Televised & Zoom Planning Board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 16th at 7pm.
  • There will be a Televised & Zoom Select Board meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 5th at 7pm.
  • There will be a Televised & Zoom Planning Board meeting on Thursday, Jan. 6th at 7pm.

6.         Public Comment - None

7.         On the motion of Rogala and Hoffman, the Select Board adjourned the meeting at 7:44pm. Passed 3-0
