MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

12.20.17, 7:00 P.M. AT THE COMMUNITY BUILDING

Attendees: Roger Hicks, Mike Seely, Sr., Rita Perron, Martha Huff, Don Marean, Bennet Flinner, John Rondeau, Sherry Estabrook, Tara Michaud, Rita Anderson, Bev Harris, 

1. Mtg called to order by Hicks at 7:00PM.

2. Old Business 

      a. 18-19 Budget Reviews:

Town Clerk: On the motion of Perron/Hicks the Select Board approved to recommend the $39,139.08 budget for Town Clerk. Passed 3-0.

Elections: On the motion of Perron/Seely, the Select Board approved to recommend the $39,330.97 budget for Elections. Passed 3-0.

Broadcasting: On the motion of Seely/Perron the Select Board approved to recommend the $4,602.88 budget for Broadcasting. Passed 3-0.

Next Select Board meeting will cover the budgets for Parks and Rec and the Sports Complex.

      b.  Road Bond: HIcks reports that the board is seeking the best alternatives with the Town's attorney.

      c. 5:30PM Select Board Meetings- The Rec's aftercare director needs the availability of the downstairs of the Community Building between 5-6pm now that the weather is getting colder and sun setting by 5:30. On the motion of Seely/Perron the Select Board approved to not hold 5pm or 5:30pm meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month until the weather warms up. Passed 3-0.

      d. Non-Municipal budget requests:  On the motion of Perron/Seely the Select Board approved to add $1,000 donation recommendation for the So.Me Veterans Memorial Cemetary Association to the appropriation. Passed 3-0. On the motion of Perron/Seely, the Select Board approved to add $500 donation recommendation for the Health Equity Alliance to the appropriation. On the motion of Perron/Seely the Select Board approved to add $500 donation recommendation for the Maine Healthcare at Home organization to the appropriation.

3.  New Business

      a. Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant this week: $65,877, Warrant last week: $371,766; Payroll this week: $19,442, Payroll last week: $9,058.

      b. Purchase Orders: #3570 to Overhead Door NTE $700 for Overhead door repair at Hollis Fire Station 1.  #3694 to Scarborough Public Works NTE $4,184.82 for Hollis FD maintenance costs. #3606 to Sebago Technics NTE $8,987.27 for continued engineering for Sand Pond Road Project.

      c. Correspondence - Read by Perron

-Hollis Town Offices will be closed on December 25th and 26th in observance of the Christmas Holiday and also on January 1st and 2nd in observance of the New Year's Holiday. 

-A reminder to Hollis residents that there is WINTER SAND available behind the Town Hall. Limit per household is 2 five-gallon buckets per visit. 

-LIHEAP provides money to eligible homeowners and renters to help cover direct or indirect energy expenses. In most cases, the funds are distributed directly to the fuel and utility vendors. To schedule your LIHEAP appointment, call 324-5762 or 1-800-965-5762 and choose option 1 or contact Mike Seely at 929-8552 x11.

-Dog license fees are due by December 31, 2017 for the 2018 calendar year. Fees are $6.00 per neutered or spayed dog, $11.00 per dog capable of producing young. For any questions please contact the Town Clerk Martha Huff at 929-8552 x18.

-The Town of Hollis is seeking bids for the following construction project - Phase 2 of the Hollis Community Center, located at 35 Town Farm Road, Hollis, Maine. Work includes installation of a Life Safety fire suppression system, new interior finishes, doors, ceilings and lighting. Exterior upgrades will include new ramp and stairs, handrails and guardrails as well as an emergency generator system.  Work will also include a new ADA bathroom and other miscellaneous plumbing and electrical work.

The bid date has been extended. Bids will be received until 3:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017, at which time and place the Bids will be opened and read aloud at the Town Hall. Pre-Bid site visits at The Hollis Community Center are available upon request.
