MEETING MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, February 19, 2020, 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, Bennet Flinner, Ken Knudsen, Beverly Harris, Elissa Turkett.

Absent: John Rogala

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:01pm.

2. Old Business

    a. On the motion of Perron and McCubrey, the Select Board approved the 20-21 budget recommendations previously presented and approved to and by the Finance Committee for the following departments - Broadcasting, Treasurer, Town Clerk, Elections, Tax Collector, Assessor, Fire Department, Snow, Highway, Paving, Salmon Falls Library, Health & Sanitation, Animal Control, Street Lights, Finance Committee, Conservation Commission, and Saco River Community Television. Passed 2-0-1. Rogala absent.

3. New Business

    a. Appointments – On the motion of Perron and McCubrey the Select Board appointed Maxwell Kenney to the New Town Complex Committee. Passed 2-0-1. Rogala absent.

    b. Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant last week - $404,578, Warrant this week - $25,385; Payroll last week - $31,272, Payroll this week - $12,086.

    c. Purchase Orders: Announced by McCubrey - For Northern Data Systems, our IT support vendor for server upgrade at Town Hall. Our current operating system is no longer supported by Windows and this upgrade is unavoidable.

    d. Correspondence:

MSAD #6 is currently holding Kindergarten & Pre-K Registrations for the next school year. Kindergarten Registration closes on March 31st, Pre-K Registration closes on April 17th.  For more information, visit their website or call the registrar's office at 929-2326.

The Hollis Town Republican Committee Caucus will be held on Saturday, February 29th at 1:00PM at the Hollis Community Building. Doors open at Noon for Voter Registration. For more information, contact Ben Bussiere at 207-710-3431.

The Buxton - Hollis Democratic Municipal Caucus will be held on Sunday, March 8th at 1:00PM at the Buxton Town Hall. Doors open at Noon. Snow date is March 15th at 1:00pm.

4.  Other Business:  McCubrey cited the March 3, 2020 election information and provided images of the sample ballots which are available for review at Town Hall and on our Town’s website. 

Census 2020 Info – McCubrey indicated that he received an additional survey left by a census taker at his home. He contacted the census bureau and it is legit. If you receive any letter from the census bureau you do not feel is legitimate, please contact them via telephone 1-844-330-2020.

Thursday, Feb. 20th - Conservation Commission meeting at Salmon Falls Library at 6:30pm.

Thursday, Feb. 20th - New Town Complex Committee meeting at 7:00pm.

Monday, Feb. 24th - Televised Finance Committee Meeting at 6:30pm.

Tuesday, Feb. 25th - Long Range Planning Committee Meeting at 4:30pm.

Wednesday, Feb. 26th - Televised Planning Board Meeting at 7:00pm.

Thursday, Feb. 27th - Community Day Committee Meeting at 7:00pm.

Friday, Feb. 28th - or TBD meeting with Sheriff King and County Commissioner Al Sicard

A reminder that on Tuesday, March 3rd the Presidential Primary and Special State Referendum Election will be held at the Hollis Community Building. Polls are open from 7:00AM to 8:00PM.  Absentee Ballots are still available, please stop by the Town Clerk’s office or call 929-8552 ext. 18.  Sample ballots are also available for viewing on our website and in Hollis Town Hall.
