MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, April 17, 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, John Rogala, Martha Huff, Debra Stitson, Don Marean, Bennet Flinner, Terry Walters, Beverly Harris, Sherry Estabrook, John Paul Rondeau

Guests: Paul Penna, Superintendent of MSAD 6 School District, William Brockman, Finance Manager for MSAD 6.

Absent: Rita Perron, Selectperson

1.  Meeting called to order at 7:03pm by McCubrey

2.  The Select Board held a moment of silence in memory of former Deputy Wendy Vachon and Det. Ben Campbell.

3.  MSAD 6 Budget for 19-20 was presented by Paul Penna, Superintendent and William Brockman, Finance Manager

4. Old Business

    a. On the motion of McCubrey and Rogala the amended warrant for the June 11, 2019 Annual Town Meeting was accepted and signed. Amendments included adding “vote to raise” verbiage to budget warrant articles. Passed 2-0-1.  Perron absent.

5. New Business

    a. Weekly Warrant and Payroll: Warrant this week - $34,688; Warrant last week - $396,370; Payroll this week - $10,937; Payroll last week - $28,215.

    b. Purchase Orders: 

#3774 to Southern Maine Communications for the Hollis FD/EMS for 4 pagers/radios not to exceed $2,100;

#3775 to IPS for the Hollis FD/EMS for a thermal imager, charging station for truck and 2 batteries, replacing faulty and outdated units. Not to exceed $9,190.

#3776 to Dupuis Hardware for the Hollis FD/EMS for new door locks at station 1 not to exceed $2,425.98.

    c. Correspondence:

All Senior Citizens of MSAD 6 Are Invited To A FREE Turkey Dinner On Thursday, May 16, 2019.  Dinner Begins at 4:45 PM At Bonny Eagle High School Cafeteria. To RSVP please call 929-3831.

6.  Other Business: 

Election Update: Martha Huff, Town Clerk wanted to remind residents that the June 11, 2019 election will be held at the Community Building, not the Fire Station. Absentee ballot requests are available at the Town Hall. Deputy Faith Plummer may be running the election this year since Martha is re-running for Town Clerk. She will provide updated information as it comes in.  Martha also announced that the Animal Control Officer, Kaden Flynn, has been out checking dog licenses and following up with dog owners that do not have licenses for this year. Residents have been responsive and thanked those who have come into Town Hall to license their dogs.

8.  Public Comment:  Terry Walters asked the Select Board if there is a public meeting scheduled with Poland Springs.  Rogala stated that he has been in contact with them and it should be scheduled in the very near future.

9.  Executive Session:  None

10.  Adjournment: On the motion of Rogala and McCubrey, the Select Board adjourned the meeting at 8:38pm.  Passed 2-0-1. (Perron absent.)
