MINUTES FOR HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

4/18.2018, 7:00 P.M. Televised at the Community Building

1. Meeting called to order by Hicks at 7:02PM

3. Hicks excused himself from the meeting during the Poland Springs presentation.

3. Old Business

    a. Warrant for Annual Town Meeting 6.12.18. Seely made a motion to accept and sign the warrant for the 6.12.18 Annual Town Meeting. Motion not seconded; motion failed.

4. New Business

    a.  Policy #53 Post Issuance Compliance Policy that was requested by our Town Attorney for establishing requirements of record keeping for the $3M Road Bond. Policy was accepted and signed by Seely and Perron.

    b.  Weekly Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant last week: $369,008, Warrant this week: $50,677; Payroll last week: $19,371, Payroll this week: $11,950.

    c.  Purchase Orders - None

    d.  Correspondence - Read by Perron

-Town Clerk Martha Huff is seeking election workers who can lift 50 - 60 pounds; for ballots, ballot tabulator machines and ballot boxes. Can utilize clerks as early as 5 a.m. and sometimes late into the night  10 -11 p.m.and occasionally into the early morning hours, sometimes as late as 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. 
Although the election clerk shifts may cover a just a few hours, it does require standing or sitting for extended periods of time.

“Election Clerks” are paid an hourly wage. Election Clerk training will be held in late May.

“Election Clerks” are appointed under title 21-A 503 State Election Law.

“Ballot Clerks” are appointed under title 30-A Town Meeting Law.

-Leavitt's Mill Health Center is hosting their 3rd Annual Spring Fun Walk and Run 5K Race on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 63 Main Street, Buxton. Registration begins at 8:00AM, 5K race begins at 9:00AM. Sign up is available on their webpage www.leavittsmill.org. Events also include a health fair, plenty of food, music, prizes and fun for the whole family!

-There are reports of black bears in Hollis searching for food and destroying bird feeders. Per the recommendations of the Maine Warden's Service, please take down your bird and squirrel feeders until December.
