MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, Jack Rogala, Bennet Flinner, Mary Hoffman, John Rondeau, Sherry Estabrook, William Burns, Beverly Harris

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:03PM

2. Old Business

    a.  Warrant for June 11, 2019 Annual Town Meeting: On the motion of Rogala/Perron, the Select Board voted unanimously in favor of accepting and signing the warrant for the June 11, 2019 Annual Town Meeting. Passed 3-0.

Next Public Hearing will be held near the end of May 2019.

    b.  Trash pick-up: McCubrey reports that there are many residents using very large, heavy totes on wheels to store their trash for pick-up.  Our Town’s ordinance states that trash must be in no larger than 32 gallon barrels and no more than 35 pounds of trash or recycles in each bin. McCubrey also encouraged residents to recycle as much as they can prior to July 1, 2019 when prices increase.

3. New Business

    a. Tax acquired properties - Foreclosures 2017: McCubrey listed several Town properties, mostly mobile homes that have foreclosed and sent lien notices.  These property owners have time to complete a consent agreement with the Town to buy back their properties within a year’s time.  Notices will be sent by the Select Board in the next few weeks.

    b. Weekly Warrant and Payroll: Warrant last week: $38,065, Warrant this week: $75,137; Payroll last week: $25,605, Payroll this week: $11,262.

    c. Purchase Orders: #3766 to Pork Chop Tree Co. for the removal of large pine trees on Sand Pond Road, not to exceed $4,000; #3763 to Pork Chop Tree Co. for tree and brush cutting throughout the Town, not to exceed $13,000; #3764 to RMDL for ditching, sanding and haying of shoulders on Saco Road from Mailman Way to Plains Road, not to exceed $15,900; #3742 to Tree Top Products for replacement bench for Del Cram Memorial previously destroyed, not to exceed $1,501.21.

    d. Correspondence: 

Maine All Care informational meeting to be held at the Hollis Elementary School on Thursday, April 4 at 6:30pm, sponsored by the Hollis & Buxton Democrats, presented by Phil Bailey, Executive Director of Maine All Care.

Measles Exposure in 2 Healthcare Offices in Maine- Public Health Advisory by the Department of Health and Human Services. Advisory was released on April 2, 2019 stating that an out of state resident with a confirmed case of measles visited two businesses on March 27, 2019: Maine Centers for Healthcare Endoscopy in Westbrook Maine at 11:00-2:00pm; and Skin Clinic in Falmouth Maine at 10:55am-1:05pm.

Hollis Little League will be holding their third annual Fundraiser Dance at The Roost in Buxton on April 20, 2019 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Adults only event! Enjoy dancing, a cash bar, light snacks, raffle and silent auction. Event ends at midnight. Music by DJ Dr. Dave.
