MEETING MINUTES FOR HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, April 8, 2020, 2:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, John Rogala, Bennet Flinner, Ken Knudsen

1. Meeting called to order at 2:10PM by McCubrey

2. Corona Virus resources and updated information about Municipal Buildings: 

  • For any information regarding COVID-19 virus including testing, please call 211.
  • Town Hall is open to take phone calls and provide services via e-mail or phone Tuesday through Friday, 9AM-4PM
  • Fire Station is closed to the Public. Campfire permits will be honored from 2019 for the 2020 season. For burning permits, please call 727-3623. 
  • Hollis Sports Complex -  Public may use the fields to walk, run or play while social distancing.
  • Select Board Meetings will occur as needed for the time being. Rogala thanked the employees and officials at Town Hall for answering phones and answering the public's questions during the pandemic.
  • MSAD 6 is providing free meals to any child ages 0-18. Go to Bonnyeagle.org for pick up times and places.
  • Thank you to our residents that are cleaning up garbage in the road ditches. It is very much appreciated!

3. Warrant for June 9, 2020 Annual Town Meeting - Warrant read in its entirety by Rita Perron. 

On the motion of Rogala and Perron, the Select Board does not recommend article 12 "Shall the Town vote to raise, appropriate and expend up to $35,150 for the not Town-owned Hollis Center Public Library?" Failed 1-2-0. Perron voted for, McCubrey and Rogal voted against.

4.  New Business:

  • Appointments - On the motion of Perron and Rogala, the Select Board reappointed Tammy Munson as the Town's building inspector, plumbing inspector, and E-9-1-1 officer. Passed 3-0. 
  • Resignations -  The Select Board has received the resignation from our Animal Control Officer.  The Town will be advertising for a replacement very soon.
  • Health Officer - The Select Board may appoint a new or back-up to our Health Officer due to lack of availability of the current officer.
  • Playground Equipment use at the Hollis Sports Complex - On the motion of Perron and Rogala, the Select Board voted to close the playground equipment until further notice - sections will be taped off. Passed 3-0.
  • New Radon Unit - will be installed at the Town Hall next week.
  • Town Signs - Sign on Route 202 is badly damaged, the board is waiting for a quote on it.

On the motion of Rogala and Perron the board unanimously adjourned the meeting at 2:50pm. Passed 3-0
