MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING
Wednesday, May 15, 2019, 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building
Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, John Rogala, John Paul Rondeau, Bennet Flinner, Beverly Harris, Sherry Estabrook, Martha Huff
1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:04pm and suspended.
2. McCubrey opened the Public Hearing for the June 11, 2019 Annual Town Meeting at 7:05pm.
3. The June 11, 2019 Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting was read in its entirety by the Select Board. McCubrey announced that they would address public questions and comments after each article was read. There were no questions or comments from the public.
4. McCubrey closed the Public Hearing for the June 11, 2019 Annual Town Meeting on the motion of Perron and Rogala at 7:20pm. Passed 3-0.
5. McCubrey reconvened the Select Board Meeting at 7:20pm.
6. Old Business
a. On the motion of Rogala and Perron, the Select Board approved the meeting minutes from April 3, 2019 and April 17, 2019. Passed 3-0.
7. New Business
a. Appointments – Election and Ballot Clerks for June 11, 2019 Annual Town Meeting – final list not yet determined
b. Purchase Orders: None
c. Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant last week: $421,445, Warrant this week: $134,347; Payroll last week: $29,004, Payroll this week: $11,532.
d. Correspondence:
Public Meeting with Maine DOT regarding Salmon Falls Bridge deck replacement will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00pm at the Community Building.
Informal Public Review sessions for the updated Tax Maps will be held on Friday, May 31st from 10:00am – 6pm and on Saturday, June 1st from 8:00am-noon. The Town’s mapping contractor, C.A.I. Technologies, will be holding these sessions for residents to examine their property data and to look at parcel lines and acreage. Representatives of C.A.I. Technologies will be available during this review to answer any questions. These sessions will be held at the Community Building located at 35 Town Farm Road in Hollis. Following this review, C.A.I. Technologies will make corrections as necessary prior to delivering the completed Tax Maps.
Reminder that the Free Turkey Dinner for Senior Citizens of MSAD 6 will be held at the Bonny Eagle High School Cafeteria tomorrow, May 16th at 4:45pm. Please RSVP by calling 929-3831.
Riverside Cemetery will hold their Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 18th at 9:00AM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 80 Pleasant Hill Road in Hollis.
The Public Hearing on the 2020 proposed budget for the County of York will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 6:30pm in the Emergency Management Agency room of the York County Government Building located at 149 Jordan Springs Road in Alfred.
On Sunday, June 9th the American Diabetes Association will host the Kennebunk Tour De Cure, our annual one-day bicycling fundraising event. Some roads in Hollis will be marked for the race including: Moderation Street, Route 35 including River Road, Clarks Mills Rd and Little Falls Road. There is a rest stop at Hollis Elementary School. All riders will complete the course by 3:00pm. At no time will more than 100 riders pass through the town as a group. Please be on the lookout for riders on June 9th
8. Other Business: The Select Board send special thanks to residents Butch Gannett and Lloyd Bradbury for raising the flags around town and placing them at the veteran’s graves. Also a big thank you to Sam Harris and Friends of the Salmon Falls Library for finishing the floors in the Library.
Election Update by Martha Huff: Absentee ballots are available at Town Hall until June 6, 2019. Special circumstance absentee ballot can be requested after that date in writing. MSAD 6 Budget meeting is to be held May 30th at 7pm at the Bonny Eagle Middle School gymnasium.

10. Public Comment: None
11. Executive Session: On the motion of Perron/Rogala, the Select Board went into Executive Session pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6) (E) to discuss a legal matter. Passed 3-0. The Select Board immediately went to the Town Hall building to conduct the meeting behind closed doors at 7:40pm. Present at the meeting were David McCubrey, Rita Perron, John Rogala and Martha Huff. The executive session ended at 8:20pm and doors were opened.
12. On the motion of Rogala/Perron the Select Board meeting adjourned at 8:20pm. Passed 3-0.
