MINUTES FOR HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

5/2/2018, 7:00 P.M. Televised at the Community Building

Attendees: Rita Perron, Bennet Flinner, Cynthia Chadwick-Granger, Rita Anderson, Bev Harris, John Rondeau, Sherry Estabrook

Absent: Roger Hicks, Mike Seely, Sr.

1. Meeting called to order by Perron at 7:00PM. Not an official meeting- only informational.

2. Cynthia Chadwick-Granger, York County Maine Commissioner - District 3. 

3. Old Business: Perron reports that the Community Building is being worked on for phase 2.

4. New Business

    a.  Weekly Warrant and Payroll Totals - Warrant this week: $37,231, Warrant last week: $50,677; Payroll this week: $20,518, Payroll last week: $11,950.00

    b.  Correspondence 

-On Monday, May 14th Carr and Sons will start the cutting the trees on Sand Pond Road so CMP can move the utility poles.  The road may be closed at times due to a crane being used to take down trees. MSAD 6 and the Town of Limington have been notified. 

-Leavitt's Mill Health Center is hosting their 3rd Annual Spring Fun Walk and Run 5K Race on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 63 Main Street, Buxton. Registration begins at 8:00AM, 5K race begins at 9:00AM. Sign up is available on their webpage www.leavittsmill.org. Events also include a health fair, plenty of food, music, prizes and fun for the whole family!

- MSAD 6 is hosting a FREE turkey dinner for all senior citizens of Hollis, Buxton, Standish, Limington and Frye Island on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 4:45PM at the Bonny Eagle High School Cafeteria.  Entertainment will be provided and door prizes awarded! Please call to RSVP at 929-3831 or 642-2480

-There are reports of black bears in Hollis searching for food and destroying feeders. Per the recommendations of the Maine Warden's Service, please take down your bird and squirrel feeders until December.

6. Public Comments and Questions - Resident asked what Cynthia's background was and qualifications for being a county commissioner. Cynthia reports she has over 27 years experience in Real Estate industry, worked for years for a Title Company and has a strong lending background. She owns a small business "Vows for You" organizing and planning weddings, she planned 32 weddings last summer. She has served on her local Planning Board, School board and volunteers for the city of Saco. She was appointed for the position by the Governor and was chosen from a panel of 4 candidates that applied.
