MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, June 5, 2019, 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, John Rogala, Martha Huff, Bennet Flinner, John Rondeau, Sherry Estabrook, Dick Marion, Terry Walters, Bev Harris, Rita Anderson.

Special Guests: Poland Spring Reps: Dana Pinkham, Matt Turner, Deb Hilton, Steve Semo, Chris Haynes, Cameron Lorraine, Mark LaPlant

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:02pm.

2. On the motion of Rogala and Perron, the Board unanimously approved the appointment of Tax Collector Anna McClay. Passed 3-0.

4. Old Business

   a. Snow removal and ice control bids for 2019-21 - Bid packets now available. Due by July 17, 2019.

   b. Vandalism at Hollis Sports Complex:  The Board reports that there is vandalism occurring at the Sports complex in the parking lots and on grounds. ATVs and trucks are ripping up parking lots and portapotties are being turned over. If anyone sees something, please contact the Board. Rogala reports that the state policy have been notified of these issues and encourage residents to take note of registration numbers/plates, dates and time frame and report it to them directly.

   c. Parking at Hollis Sports Complex: Signs will be put up at the complex soon that states there is no parking at the complex lots unless it is for event parking. This is to help keep the users of the complex safe.

5. New Business

   a. Policies #2, #3 and #12 – All amended. On the motion of Perron and Rogala, the Board unanimously approved amended policies #2,3,12. Passed 3-0.

   b. Approval of Meeting Minutes for May 1st and May 15 2019: On the motion of Perron and Rogala, the Board unanimously approved the meeting minutes of May 1 and May 15 2019. Passed 3-0.

   c. Acceptance of Addison Way: Tabled until 7/3/19

   d. Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant last week $877,348, Warrant this week - $70,315; Payroll last week $10,545, Payroll this week $27,858.

   e. Purchase Orders: #3794 to RHR Smith and Co for financial audit services 2018-19 under administration. Not to exceed $9,800; #3795 to RMDL for culvert replacement on Darbick Terrace under Highway. Not to exceed $5,600; #3739 to Taylor and Sons Property Maintenance to move complex portapotties and bulid a fenced in area to protect them. Not to exceed $3,000; #3738 to A.M. Brichetto Paint Contracting for Building Maintenance concession stand and painting rec building under Sports Complex. Not to exceed $3,000.

   f. Correspondence – Just a reminder for residents to be on the lookout this Sunday, June 9th for bicyclists in Hollis on Routes 5 and 35 for the Tour de Cure fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association. Please share the road with the bikers.

6. Other Business: 

  a. Danny Hewes - did not attend meeting.

  b. Thank you Rita Anderson for the flowers at the Veteran's Memorial at Town Hall.

7. Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

Monday, June 10th at 7pm. – Community Day/Hollis Pirate Fest meeting at the Community Building.

Tuesday, June 11th – Hollis Annual Town Meeting and MSAD 6 Budget Validation and school director voting from 7AM – 8PM at the Community Building.  (Not at the Fire Station)

Wednesday, June 12th at 7pm - Planning Board meeting and Public Hearing regarding the Durgin Road subdivision at the Community Building

Thursday, June 13th at 7pm – Hollis Sports Complex Committee meeting at the Community Building

Wednesday, June 19th at 7pm – Hollis Select Board meeting at the Community Building

Thursday, June 20th at 11:30am – EcoMaine Annual Meeting at Thompson’s Point.  Select Board members Dave McCubrey and Jack Rogala will be in attendance.

Thursday, June 20th at 5:30pm – Conservation Commission meeting at the Salmon Falls Library

Thursday, June 20th at 7pm – New Municipal Complex Committee meeting at the Community Building

8. Public Comment: Rita Anderson asked for the flags to be replaced by the memorial - they are faded and ripped.

9. Executive Session: None

10. On the motion of Rogala and Perron, the meeting adjourned at 8:43pm. Passed 3-0.
