MINUTES FOR TELEVISED SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, July 11, 2018 5:00PM at the Hollis Town Hall

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, Tammy Munson, Bennet Flinner, John Rondeau, Rita Anderson, Terry Walters.

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 5:00pm

2. Rita Perron introduced the new Code Enforcement Officer, Tammy Munson, of Westbrook. She has over 25 years of experience in Code Office including the Director of Inspections for the City of Portland. The board and Tammy are excited to move the office forward and make changes.

3. Old Business

    a. Update on Sand Pond Road: McCubrey reports that the contractor is anxious to begin. CMP has installed most of the poles. Fairpoint Communications need to remove their cables. Shaw Brothers will be ready to start in August.

    b. Update on Community Building Remodeling: The steps have been torn out, ADA ramp will be installed. The great room is almost complete. Working on the Fire Suppression System. Water tanks are in but not yet filled. Select Board is pleased with the progress made. Should be finished by August 10, 2018.

    c. Town Hall update: Electricity will be shut off by CMP to install the new generator – date will be forthcoming.

3. New Business

    a. Appointments and Reappointments: Board of Appeals, Clothing Closet Committee, Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Sports Complex Committee, New Town Complex Committee, Deputy CEO, building, plumbing and electrical inspector. On the motion of Perron/McCubrey, the Select Board voted in favor of all appointments presented. Passed 2-0.

    b. Hollis Fire Rescue Statistics – McCubrey gave stats given to the board by the Fire Chief, Chris Young. In June 2018 there were 45 total incidents, over half of them medical transport and assistance, the remainder were fires, alarms, down power lines, and well-being checks.

    c. P.O.'s – Annual hose testing for the Hollis FD; Mowing, Repair to the salt shed, Road signs and installation, Brine Tank set up, patching Town roads, shouldering, rating dirt roads and recycling asphalt – all for Roads. On the motion of Perron/McCubrey the Select Board voted in favor of approving all purchase orders. 2-0 Passed.

    d. Weekly Payroll and Warrant Totals: Warrant last week: $57,715; Warrant this week: $533,857 (includes MSAD 6 payment and construction on the Community Building payment) Payroll last week: $21,334; Payroll this week:  $14,650.

4. Other Business - none

5. Public Comments - Topics covered: Poland Springs and issues with trucks. A few residents voiced concerns with the routes the trucks are taking – going through housing developments. McCubrey stated that the managers at the bottling plant usually have an annual meeting with the board in the fall – the board will keep the public posted on the date.

6. Executive Session - None

7. On the motion of McCubrey/Perron the Select Board voted in favor of adjourning the meeting at 5:07pm. Passed 2-0
