MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, July 18, 2018 7:00PM at the Hollis Fire Station, 405 Plains Road

Attendees: David McCubrey, Rita Perron, Bennet Flinner, John Rondeau, Sherry Estabrook, Rita Anderson

 

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:01PM

2. Old Business

      a. Planning Board Vacancy  - One vacancy available on the board. Please contact the Select Board for an application if you're interested in joining.

      b. Community Building Phase 2 Update – Perron reports that Phase 2 should be completed by the end of August. Part of the ramp is up outside and sprinkler system is installed downstairs.

      c. Town Hall Construction Update: The Town Hall building will be CLOSED 8/7/18 – 8/24/18. Temporary Town offices will be set up in the Community Building. Tax Assessment cards and Code Enforcement Files will NOT be available for review during this time period. Please plan accordingly.

3. New Business

      a. Warrant for Special Hollis Town Meeting - New Select Board member.  During the November election, the warrant was previously approved and passed. Paperwork was signed by McCubrey and Perron.

      b. CEO salary/wage - The Select Board changed the salary of the CEO to an hourly wage.

      c. Recommendation for new Hollis FD members - Recent recommendations made by the Fire Chief have been reviewed and approved by the Select Board.

      d. Appointments - 5 Member Select Board Ordinance Committee, Planning Board.  Select Board approved and signed appointments for the following committee and board members:  5 member Select Board ordinance committee: Barbara Hase, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman, Rebecca Bowley; Planning Board: Bruce Wishart was reappointed for his membership.

      e. Weekly Warrant and Payroll totals: Warrant last week-$533,857, Warrant this week-$46,490; Payroll last week-$14,650, Payroll this week-$28,164

      f. Purchase Orders: #3700 to So. Maine Comm. College for EMT basic course for 2 call company members under the Hollis FD. Not to exceed $1,467; #3701 to Scarborough DPW for June vehicle maintenance bill under the Hollis FD. Not to exceed $590.24; #3702 to Weirs GMC Autobody for new tail light assembly for engine 1 under the Hollis FD. Not to exceed $678.00; #3667 to Bana Corp. to install new electrical panels in Town Hall, removal of central vacuum and repair other wires as necessary. Not to exceed $3,000.

      g. Correspondence

THE HOLLIS PIRATE FEST SCHEDULE OF EVENTS IS NOW AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE AND POSTED IN TOWN HALL. PLEASE JOIN US ON SATURDAY, AUG. 11, 2018 AT THE HOLLIS SPORTS COMPLEX FOR FAMILY FUN, FOOD AND FIREWORKS!  PANCAKE BREAKFAST BEGINS AT 8:00AM AND FESTIVITIES WILL RUN ALL DAY UNTIL 9:30PM ENDING WITH A FIREWORKS DISPLAY SPONSORED BY POLAND SPRING.

The Dorcas Society of Buxton & Hollis will be holding DORCAS FEST and a car show on the grounds of the Royal Brewster Mansion on Brewster Lane in Buxton on August 4, 2018 beginning at 8:00AM. A concert featuring The Mallett Brothers Band will be held at 6:00pm rain or shine. Tickets are $20.  A fireworks display sponsored by Narragansett Number One Foundation will follow after dusk.

St. Andre Health Care and Biddeford Adult Education is offering a FREE CNA course that is state approved and grant funded.  All classes and clinicals will be held at St. Andre Health Care at 407 Pool Street in Biddeford. This is a 10-week course scheduled to begin Mid-October. Class is limited to 10 applicants. For more information and to apply, please contact River Payne at rpayne@standre.org or 303-4438.

4.  Other Business:  

      a. Street light out on High/River Road was reported to CMP.

      b. CMP will be having all wires strung next week for Sand Pond Road if weather holds out.
