MINUTES FOR TELEVISED HOLLIS SELECT BOARD MEETING

Wednesday, July 3, 2019 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: DaveMcCubrey, RIta Perron, John Rogala, Bennet Flinner, Sherry Estabrook, John Rondeau

1. Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:02pm

2. McCubrey congratulated Perron for her senior women's basketball team's acheivement of a Silver medal at the national tournament in Arizona last week. Congratulations to Rita and her team!

3. Old Business

     a. Addison Way - Road Acceptance: McCubrey reports that the contractor has finished the work required for the completion of the road, Addison Way, and the board has also received approval from the Road Commissioner.  On the motion of McCubrey and Rogala, the Select Board unanimously approved Addison Way as a Town Road. Passed 3-0-0.

     b. Reminders:

  • Town Hall will be CLOSED on July 4th and 5th. Have a happy and safe Independence Day!
  • Thursday Trash Pick-up will be on SATURDAY due to the holiday July 4th.
  • The 195th Army Band is performing on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 7:00PM at the Hollis Sports Complex, 14 Lower Tarbox Road.
  • Snow Bids must be received no later than 4:00PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.  All bids will be opened that evening at the Select Board meeting at 7:00PM.
  • Revaluation 2020 forms are now due - please mail in or drop off at Town Hall as soon as possible.

4. New Business

     a.  July National Guard Training announcement - July 12  through 14 at Hollis training area on Hardscrabble Road. Exercises will include gun fire and pyrotechnics. Public be warned.

     b. Re-appointments:  Nancy Ponzetti & Rebecca Bowley – Appeals Board; Jessica Brackett – Planning Board; Lori Schopen – Health Officer; Kevin LaFreniere, John Rogala, Rita Perron- New Municipal Complex Committee. On the motion of McCubrey and Perron, the Select Board unanimously  approved all of the reappointments listed. Passed 3-0.

     c. Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant this week $94,872; Warrant last week $241,649. Payroll this week $31,824;Payroll last week $11,060.

     d. Purchase Orders: #3831 to RMDL under Highway acct for Misc. emergency work as needed, including patching, not to exceed $5,000; #3832 to RMDL under Highway acct for Signs and installation as needed, not to exceed $4,000.

5. Other Business: 

  • There are (2) Planning Board Vacancies. Please contact Bennet Flinner if you are interested.
  • Perron read a memo given to the Select Board today from the Code Enforcement Officer, Tammy Munson requesting that her assistant, Tammy Thompson's hourly wage be increased to $18.00 per hour to reflect compensation for additional duties recently added to support the Assessor as well as the Code office. Munson indicated that $18.00 per hour wage is comparable to similar positions in the state. Perron stated that she believes this is allowable and available in the CEO budget. McCubrey agreed she was deserving but felt that the board must also consider the FICA and medicare increase the salary increase will cause.  Rogala and Perron stated they are in agreement that Thompson is deserving of the increase based on her performance and reasons outlined in the memo by Munson. On the motion of Perron and Rogala, the Select Board unanimously approved the hourly increase to $18.00 per hour for Tammy Thompson. Passed 3-0-0.

9. On the motion of Rogala and Perron, the Select Board unanimously agreed to adjourn their meeting at 7:20pm. Passed 3-0-0.
