Minutes for Select Board Televised Meeting

January 4, 2017 7:00PM

1. Meeting opened by Payne at 7:01PM.

2. Old Business

a. Special Town Meeting 2.14.17 for TIF Amendment: Deb Stitson, Town's Tax Assessor and member of the committee who researched the TIF Amendment presented an update. Please view the meeting video http://src-tv.com/pegtv/ for complete information.  TIF Amendment and Warrant are on the town's website for review.

b. Community Clothing Closet Building Update: New building is in place next to the Hollis FD 1.

c. Roads Update & Salt/Sand Reminder: Roger reports that road crews are working on the roads to keep them clear and sanded.  The sand pile behind Town Hall is limited, please keep in mind that there are other residents in the town and take only what you need. Limit is two 5 gallon buckets.

d. Emergency Medical Subscription Plan:  The Town has five subscribers in the program, so far. Forms and the policy are on the Town's website and at Town Hall.

e. Dept. Statistics: Fire Department- In December, FD/EMS received 35 calls, majority was medical transport (37%).  Code Enforcement- To date, fees collected are $40K (since June 2016).

3. New Business

a. Town Hall Closures:  Select Board reminds residents to check the Town's website and WCSH 6 and WGME 13 for closure announcements. Per the Town's policy, Town Hall is closed when MSAD 6 schools are closed, due to weather.

          b. Warrant and Payroll Totals: Warrant last week-$62,534, Warrant last week-$101,221; Payroll last week-$9,878, Payroll this week-$16,793.

c. Correspondence:

  • Surveys for residents to complete for MSAD 6 - Qualities of a Superintendent of Schools are available at Town Hall or on MSAD 6 website.
  • LIHEAP and Weatherization - York County Community Action Program 207-324-5762    WEBSITE:  https://www.yccac.org/index.php/energy-programs/liheap
  • SALT/SAND IS AVAILABLE BEHIND TOWN HALL FOR HOLLIS RESIDENTS- LIMIT IS TWO 5 GALLON BUCKETS PER HOUSEHOLD.
  • DOG LICENSE FEES ARE NOW DUE Fees for 2017 YEAR are $6.00 for Spayed/Neutered dog, $11.00 for unspayed/unneutered. Late fee of $25 (per dog) go into effect 2/1/17!
