MINUTES FOR HOLLIS SELECT BOARD PUBLIC AND ZOOM MEETING

Wednesday, June 1, 2022 - 7:00PM at the Hollis Community Building

Attendees: David McCubrey, John Rogala, Mary Hoffman, Martha Huff, Tiffany Dean, Ken Knudsen, Bennet Flinner

1.   Meeting called to order by McCubrey at 7:00pm

2.    Old Business

a. Election Update – Martha Huff, Town Clerk.  Huff reminds residents that absentee ballots are still available at Town Hall or call her office at 929-8552 x18. If anyone is interested in working the election, please contact Martha.

b. Paving Bids are due at 4pm on June 15, 2022. Please see Town’s website FMI or call Road Commissioner Rob Hanson at 727-3242

c. New Hire - Code Enforcement Officer. Starts June 8, 2022. Thanks in advance for your patience while the new CEO gets settled in and continues training & certifications.

3.   New Business

            a.  Payroll and Warrant Totals: Payroll last week $13,833, Payroll this week $34,945; Warrant last week $25,339, Warrant this week $81,340.

            b.  Purchase Orders: 

  • #4081 to Bound Tree for Sapphire medication pump(2) programming cable, administration set, primary infusion sets for the Fire/EMS dept not to exceed $5,013.28.
  • #4079 to Stryker for Power load in primary ambulance, cot upgrade for power load system, installation labor, 3 year pro-care service on cot, not to exceed $38,692.20 under TIF acct/FD-EMS.
  • #4122 to Visa for two 100 pint dehumidifiers $699 each for basement of community building and maintenance use, Not to exceed $1,400. 

            c.  Correspondence:

• LIHEAP applications for 2021-22 will be taken until July 15th. Call 459-2950 to apply.

• It’s Tick season!! According to the Maine Medical Center Research Institute, about two-thirds of the cases of Lyme disease in Maine are reported in June, July and August. That’s because the peak season for deer tick nymphs is June and July. For more information on Tick Prevention, please visit www.cdc.gov/ticks

4. Other Business:  

• Vacancies on Planning Board and Finance Committee

• Peter Lovell: The Select Board is very saddened at the sudden passing of Planning Board member Peter Lovell. Our sympathies go out to his family and loved ones at this difficult time. He will be very missed here at the Town of Hollis and we thank him for his many years of service to the Town.

- Town roads will be swept soon, we've had issues getting equipment rentals or any kind of services.Town Hall parking lot was just completed.  We also need quotes on repairing the sports complex pavilions if anyone is interested. 

5.   Upcoming Committee and Board Meetings

  • • Community Day Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 7th at 7pm at the Comm. Bldg.
  • • Hollis Annual Town Meeting and State Referendum Election – All Secret Ballot Voting on Tuesday, June 14th from 7am to 8pm at the Hollis Community Building, 35 Town Farm Road. 
  • • Sports Complex Committee meeting on Thursday, June 9th at 7PM at the Comm. Bldg.
  • • Hollis Select Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 15th at 7PM at the Comm. Bldg.
  • • Conservation Commission meeting on Thursday, June 16th at 5:30pm.

7.    On the motion of Rogala and Hoffman, Select Board adjourned meeting at 7:15pm. Passed 3-0.
