Current Land Use Programs

As a matter of public policy, the State of Maine has established Current Use Land  Programs which value land according to productivity and public benefit rather than  market value. Although the landowner receives a reduced assessment for land classified

under these programs, should the owner change the use of all or part of the property a substantial penalty is assessed. More information regarding these programs may be found on the links below:
